Match XXV: (1) The Legend of Zelda vs. (2) Metroid Past Matches The Legend of Zelda Defeated Civilization, 89.97% - 10.03% Defeated Mega Man X, 80.32% - 19.68% Metroid Defeated Kirby, 70.57% - 29.43% Defeated Pokemon, 52.56% - 47.44% Analysis: The Legend of Zelda, like the rest of the big 3 showed their dominance over its opponent by breaking 80% on Mega Man X and it was able to score over 100k for the second time in a row. What was thought to be a SFF beat down by Metroid didn’t turned out like that when Pokemon was able to keep it close proving that its performance against Star Ocean wasn’t a fluke. This is Metroid’s third and last Nintendo opponent and like the trend shows The Legend of Zelda will be Metroid’s toughest opponent, but I think you already knew that. Though if anyone thinks that Metroid could go toe on toe with one of the Big 3 you have something else coming. Like Link did in 2004 The Legend of Zelda will go through its first three matches breaking 80%, but 2 of them came from SFF beat downs (whether LoZ SFF MMX is debatable). The question becomes on how much LoZ will SFF Metroid. Unlike Metroid/Pokemon there will be SFF involved in this match take a look at what happen in SMB3/Metroid and LttP/SM. I also think Metroid would fail to break 20% on LoZ since with the performance the Big 3 has been doing I wouldn’t be surprised if Metroid did get tripled before SFF. Not much to talk about during the match. The only match I have picked that I'm worried about is LoZ > FF. I've gotten two divisions perfect (assuming SMB doesn't wimp out for whatever reason), and Zelda is my upset special. Aside from Warcraft. That result still cracks me up. --- This space reserved for a new sig. |

i'd say that at this point, three whole matches are even SLIGHTLY in question: Metal Gear vs. Kingdom Hearts Super Mario Bros. vs. Final Fantasy Final Fantasy vs. Legend of Zelda yes, i know that's being generous. MG and FF are pretty huge favorites in my mind, but i still see a sliver of a possibility that either of them could be upset. Metroid, SSB, RE, and MG (over Zelda) have ZERO chance of approaching an upset. and as far as i'm concerned, Zelda's 80% against MMX (as opposed to FF's 74% on Megaman) tells me that the champion isn't quite written in stone yet either. --- "In America, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women...." - Homer Simpson |

Zelda could get some ridiculous percentage here, like 83%. I'm
surprised that most expect Metroid to do better than Mega Man X, I

Depends on what your definition of "embarrassed" is. If you consider a
quadrupling to be "embarrassed," then Metroid is going to get

I skimmed my spread betting topic, and nearly everyone took Zelda with over 75. To me, that was insane Zelda support; it's seeming more likely now that I'm underestimating Zelda. But still. Oh, and I'm sure someone else made the brilliant connection, but it's
at least ironic and funny that Street Fighter has yet another scenario
where people are justified in going OMG SF LOST? I don't remember how
close smrpg/sfII was, but it's still pretty damn unlucky to be a
