So lets go ahead and guess how many perfects will be knocked off. Since Resident Evil is pretty much gonna win now, I'm gonna say about 25 at least.

A see-saw pattern isn't going to lead SF anywhere. It's over, and it's been so for a while now.

By the way, this is not contest-related, but I could still use some help on this:

Hot damn... looking at the updater if I hadn't been so tired last night would have been a fun night to stay up for (Went to sleep 20 minutes into the match), not that RE ever lost it's lead, but damn I was getting nervous it was gonna go down going update by update with it. Oh well!

DK's good at that. he's like EC in bed.

Big, hairy, and ferocious? I agree ! !

Also, how awesome would it have been if we had Mario/Samus in 2K3? Samus along with everything in her path up to Mario would have been horrendously underrated, and 2K4 could have been awesome. Not that it already wasn't, despite what people say, 2K4 might be my favorite contest... it's debatable though.

If we get to the point where less than 50 brackets are perfect at the end of the second round, I call this contest a success. We'll still have a perfect bracket, but..

Honestly... for there to not be a perfect bracket, we'd need all of them to have taken A) SF > RE, B) KH > MG C) SSB > SMB or D) LoZ > FF.

Sad thing is I don't see 69 people taking at least one of those.

I thought of something... the big reason why we're virtually guaranteed to have a perfect bracket is because it's the first time we're having a contest without a big upset no one saw coming. We've had Scorpion, Squall, Starcraft, Sora, Master Hand, Knuckles (and also Pac-Man)... but this year? Nothing.

Well...few people saw Castlevania > Halo or Warcraft > GTA, percentages-wise. Those were bigger than any first round upset we've had since StarCraft > Halo.

Good point, though Master Hand/Kuja was discussed as a possible upset by a couple of people. Not many, but people DID see it coming.

And really, having over 45,000 brackets increased the odds of having a perfect, as well as this only being a 32-entry bracket.

not by the prediction percentages. maybe by the board yeah, but two first round matches in the 30's is about as close to "no one saw it coming" as you get.

Castlevania/Halo had the second lowest first round prediction percentage of all time.

And it's not over, Slow. SSB could beat SMB or something equally insane.

They were, but people actually gave Castlevania and Warcraft a chance. Along with Mario Kart, those were the top upset picks. Which is much less the case when you look at the overall brackets.

People here don't matter, as not one guru has a perfect bracket left, and I don't think a BOP entrant does either, so it's pretty meaningless to even bring that up.
