this is a lot different than CV/Halo or CV/KH. in those matches, big
day vote swings were expected. one is expected here too, but it's the
series that's in the lead, so there's nothing to really discuss. there
would have to be some serious "picture factor" for RE to falter here. this is likely our last debatable match though, so we might as well get the most out of it. am I the only one that's thinking FF is going to completely slaughter RE, Zelda/MMX style? --- xyzzy I lost a sig bet to War13104. Yes, the same guy who had Kefka over Crono. FOR THE HORDE! |

It's going slow tonight... usually in a slim lead like this everyone is in this topic. There would be more discussion if Street Fighter was in the lead. As it is now, Resident Evil is winning at night and given Street Fighter's lackluster day vote, many would expect this to get worse come morning. --- "Building the future and keeping the past alive are one in the same thing." -- Solid Snake |

Anyway, SF with a couple of small wins. Stop getting my hopes up SF! It's just gonna get smashed down next update, I can feel it :( --- Sp2k6: 28/30 Rank: Tied for 460th Losses: Halo, GTA but im gonna cry if he (Sonic) loses. Man, these updates are all over the place. Resident Evil can't quite
break the 400 vote lead. At 2:45, Castlevania's lead over Halo was 338.
Resident Evil's is 373. Those two have been oddly similar thus far,
with the series behind doing some stalling and occasional lead cutting
before the series in front bounces back with a big update. Hopefully, the trend will continue in full and Street Fighter will end up victorious! --- I am the man who makes the impossible possible. I am the man, the legend: Solid Snake! |

am I the only one that's thinking FF is going to completely slaughter RE, Zelda/MMX style? After seeing what Final Fantasy VII did to Metal Gear Solid after that game destroyed RE, there's virtually no doubt in my mind. Resident Evil should be SO thankful that it has been introduced to the Nintendo audience over the past few years, or else this one would be truly ghastly. --- Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your WOOOOOOOOORLD!!! |

Well, only a gain of 8 that time for Resident Evil. Not too bad. I wasn't around for SMRPG/SFII, and we don't have an updater for it. Anybody know when Mario RPG really started taking over? --- I am the man who makes the impossible possible. I am the man, the legend: Solid Snake! |

Yeah, I was just looking at the CT/SMRPG poll updater, and I had no idea that Chrono Trigger had a tripling
to start that match. That makes turning 49% into 56% make more sense.
Resident Evil definitely won't have THAT kind of day vote. --- I am the man who makes the impossible possible. I am the man, the legend: Solid Snake! |
LegendarySnake | Posted 7/25/2006 12:13:21 AM | message detail |
no, Chrono Trigger did that. For what it's worth, CT did much better damage control against SMW and even better against Mario 3. --- I am the man who makes the impossible possible. I am the man, the legend: Solid Snake! |

Even though Street Fighter traditionally sucks with the day vote, RE
has never really been that good with it. Also, with a pic that rivals
Solid **** in suck, I don't think RE will do much of anything during
the day. --- Organization XIII - Number III - Xordac Currently Playing - Suikoden V, Street Fighter Alpha 3, New Super Mario Bros. |
LegendarySnake | Posted 7/25/2006 12:16:24 AM | message detail |
Mario 3/Chrono Trigger was odd though. Mario 3 actually had the lead to begin with. FFVII couldn't even manage that. --- I am the man who makes the impossible possible. I am the man, the legend: Solid Snake! |
Draco1214 | Posted 7/25/2006 12:20:10 AM | message detail |
Actually, we may be overrating how bad SF's day vote is. Looking at
some of Ryu's updates, he doesn't do too badly with it and actually
used the day vote to recover a bit in percentage against Bowser, for
whatever that's worth. --- Organization XIII - Number III - Xordac Currently Playing - Suikoden V, Street Fighter Alpha 3, New Super Mario Bros. |
LegendarySnake | Posted 7/25/2006 12:22:08 AM | message detail |
He started gaining back with the afternoon vote, at any rate. Bowser destroyed him and Chun-Li both with the morning vote. Another nice cut for SF. A little SF gaining and a little RE falling. --- I am the man who makes the impossible possible. I am the man, the legend: Solid Snake! |
Lopen | Posted 7/25/2006 12:23:27 AM | message detail |
Yeah, I think SF's day vote is being hated on a bit too much. And I'm
just not seeing RE as being some sorta Day Vote beast, either. I'd
think this would also be it's strongest time. This match is still up in
the air for now methinks. Love those huge updates by SF. --- Raiden is still [!!] nominations short! http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs9/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=27664244 |

If Street Fighter leads, it wouldn't be by anything more than a
couple of hundreds votes, I'd imagine. "Considerable lead" won't be in
the equation. And I would also imagine RE4 helping out Resident Evil's day vote for whatever reason. With Street Fighter's less than spectacular day vote, it wouldn't be like Resident Evil would need much at all. --- "Building the future and keeping the past alive are one in the same thing." -- Solid Snake |
LegendarySnake | Posted 7/25/2006 12:29:52 AM | message detail |
Looking at SF's poll history, SMRPG, Sonic, Bowser, and Diablo really destroyed
Street Fighter with the day vote, but they're all noted for being very
good with it. Against KOS-MOS, Ryu didn't lose much ground at all. Once
Bison stabilized against Albedo, he didn't lose that much either. --- I am the man who makes the impossible possible. I am the man, the legend: Solid Snake! |
LegendarySnake | Posted 7/25/2006 12:30:47 AM | message detail |

But Street Fighter is Nintendo, too! Street Fighter was for the SNES,
man! Thinking about it, what has SF fought in which it has lost %?
Sonic, Nintendo, and X-Box... maybe the reason we all think it's so bad
with it is because the opponent is just better. --- Raiden is still [!!] nominations short! http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs9/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=27664244 |
