Match 24 - Street Fighter vs Resident Evil This is the only match that I really had to think about before submitting my final bracket. Initially I picked Street Fighter without thinking, and then thought for a little bit. Street Fighter ought not to be that much stronger than Street Fighter 2. Resident Evil would have given it a run for its money before RE4 was released. Now that's out, that ought to tip any doubt there might be about this match. SF's first match was against the Elder Scrolls series of games, and despite murmurings of a possible "upset", Street Fighter pulled through comfortably, threatening a doubling before ending the match at just below 65% (for possibly my best Oracle pick this contest). Resident Evil faced fodder in the shape of Shadow Hearts. And crushed it. In all seriousness, this was one heck of a performance, finishing at over 87% and threatening 100K votes. This simply isn't seen by anything other than elite contenders. Of course, that is likely to do with massive weakness on the part of SH, but still, it's ridiculous. Resident Evil will have no problems here and will complete a fourth 1 vs 2 matchup for the last eight stages. How predictable. Bracket says: Resident Evil Favourites bracket says: Street Fighter Vote says: Street Fighter Prediction: Resident Evil with 61.23% Fun fact of the day: We've seen just three upsets based on seedings, two of which were expected, and we only have 69 perfects to date? That's insanely low, am i rite? --- Jon Thomson - CATS, Jay Solano, Ridley, Scorpion, Alien Hominid, Duke Nukem, The Prince, Johnny Rocketfingers, two TBA |

As much as I like PW, there's no way in hell I'm reading all of those. FF's doing on par as I predicted, so I don't think it's stronger or weaker than Zelda at this point. BOLD PREDICTION: Resident Evil will be 4th strongest. --- This space reserved for a new sig. |

Here's the deal, even if you vehemently do not want FF to win this contest, there is no denying it is a better series then MM. --- I am never wrong. There was one time I was wrong though. It's where I thought I was wrong, but I was really right. |

BOLD PREDICTION: Resident Evil will be 4th strongest. Nope. Mega Man (and possibly Street Fighter <_<) will rank higher than RE. But I think it's pretty much between SSB, Metal Gear, and Mega Man for the 4th strongest series. We won't really know about SSB thanks to the nasty SFF it will receive, so that just leaves MM and MG. --- Organization XIII - Number III - Xordac Currently Playing - Suikoden V, Capcom vs. SNK 2, New Super Mario Bros. |

Phediuk: Resident Evil is Capcom's best-selling series. Street
Fighter's sales as a series aren't too impressive when you consider
that 16 million of its 24 million sales (including Alpha) come from
Street Fighter 2...and look how strong SF2 was. RE4 will give Resident Evil a boost and definately gave the series the kick-in-the-ass it needed. But SF has much more of an online presense than RE does. The number of reviews for it on GameFAQs suggests otherwise. I'm not saying it's condemned to lose because it's only one game,
don't get me wrong. I'm just doubting if that one game will be enough. Let's put it this way, without SFII and RE4, I'd easily take RE to beat SF, at the same time I'd have little reservation taking RE4 over SFII, hell even if it managed to beat RE4 (not something I really see happening, but debatable), it would need to beat it handily to make up the difference in the series. --- Explicit Content Cheer Up Emo Kids |

without SFII and RE4, I'd easily take RE to beat SF ...Really? You don't say? You say that like it's any different from SF supporters saying RE4 is only one game, how much can one
game add to it?! When it's completely evident that SF relies almost
entirely on SFII, and RE has more components to it than just RE4,

Comparing Resident Evil 4 to Street Fighter II is a bit of a stretch,
