I have no idea how to calculate X-stats. It is explained on the first post of every stats topic. Other than that, http://www.thengamer.com/xstats/ Well, duh. FF's going to have no problem at all until it hits Zelda. I just have a lingering fear of voters jumping ship. But it's a very small, likely overcompensating fear. I don't know why I spent so much time dwelling on it. Gotta cover all my bases! <_< I hear ya. I've been thinking about this ever since the whole diversity argument was brought up. I don't see Zelda winning, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it did. Although nothing in today's performance makes me question FF's superiority. Incredible. FF is almost tripling one of the best candidates for fourth
place. Looks like I wasn't kidding when I said fourth place might be at
25%. And this is supposed to be much more competitive than the villain

And this is supposed to be much more competitive than the villain contest to boot. it is... difference is that the VC had one entrant who was an obvious win that nothing could come close to, while there's three in this that you can at least make an argument for. --- xyzzy I lost a sig bet to War13104. Personally, I probably wouldn't want the Big Three back in
a main bracket, but there is almost no solution for them at this point.
It seems the best brackets are those without Link, Cloud, and Sephiroth

I think it has happened here. Mega Man is stronger than
Resident Evil, (at least I think so) so FF isn't ceasing the dominance
there. SMB will SFF SSB. LoZ will SFF Metroid. Short of Metal Gear
pulling something spectacular out against LoZ (like breaking 40%

Personally, I probably wouldn't want the Big Three back in a main
bracket, but there is almost no solution for them at this point. It
seems the best brackets are those without Link, Cloud, and Sephiroth in
them, even if Mario is still included. Nothing outside the big three can beat Mario. If Samus (hypothetically) could retain the same popularity but be a Playstation favourite and not a Nintendo one, she MIGHT be able to do it, but that's it. At the same time, I don't know what could be done to avoid Mario winning it all again in 2k6. Meh, maybe we're starting the cycle all over again. Champion wins first contest. Tons of people pick said Champion to win next contest because nothing there should be able to defeat him. Said champion (Link the first time, Mario this) gets upset by a character who we thought was significantly weaker (Sephiroth this time...SONIC THE NEXT?!) Tifa/Zelda isn't that big of a deal; for me, it depends entirely on the bracket's timing. If it looks like the contest will start in early September, I take Tifa. If it's October or something, I have Zelda all the way. Obviously, Riku over Chief is my big risk, and with the volatility of Master Chief and the success of Kingdom Hearts II, it seems to be one of the funnest to take. The finals are a bit tough, but I'd have taken Samus over Crono last year, and Crono beat Mega Man. Even if there is some rSFF, I don't think it'll be enough for MM to make up the difference. Also, the SSBM factor always helps. --- Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your WOOOOOOOOORLD!!! |

Too high) #2 Soma Cruz (CJ probably doesn't deserve to return) #1 Snake (Good to see Ramza back, but he's wasted) #4 Kefka (Good match. Kefka shouldn't have much trouble) #6 Revolver Ocelot (Ridley's worthless. Of course, Ocelot is too...) #2 Frog (Frog as a 2? I don't see this happening) #1 Crono #5 Ness (Underestimating Ness has burned me twice. After Brawl/MGS4, that match would never be in question -- hell, give
me Snake over Samus no problem at that point. As it is now, I like it

Not only is he finally appearing as the main playable character in MGS
in what will be nearly a decade, but he'll also be in SSBB (there's
your KHF). Samus has a nice advantage in being in SSB to give her

Oh, and taking a quick glance at that bracket, the one think that bugs
me most about some of the fan-brackets is that they don't give the
rally winners a fair shot at a win & are seeded way too low. Remember last year's rally characters, Lloyd & Ocelot grabbed a #2 seed, Tifa a #3, Kerrigan a #5, and I know 'm blanking on the last one, but I'm sure they were a 3 or 4. --- Character Noms: Ken, Chun-Li, Kasumi, Morrigan, Nightmare, Sub-Zero, Captain Falcon, Raiden |
