Sucks that Sonic is losing, but at least Steve is down the tubes. BTW, Why is Snake weaker than his series, despite being a character more known as a character (Samus is a cool character, but she's mute. Snake is well known to be fairly deep) than Samus, who is stronger than her series? o_O Just noticed how weird that is. Urgh, this isn't pretty at all. I suppose it was kind of inevitable
that this could happen after KH came back, but the size of this lead is

Technically, Snake's only the main character of one of the MGS games,
which is a problem for him. He doesn't get the full strength of each
game, like Link, Mario, or Samus would. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

I wasn't making a specific point, just stating how weird it is that a

Whoa, Smash is touching Sonic in a place or a way that makes him feel
uncomfortable. Still, it's Steve losing his perfect, and that's very

Those are lots of polls and info that show he shouldn't be too strong, despite his icon status and carrying the Genesis. Sonic 2 made the Game Contest because it received the most #1 Genesis nominations and it was #2 in the favorite-Sonic-game poll, so even if it's not THE favorite of the Sonic fans, it's very reasonably close and has a huge overlap with the other game that could say it's #1 (S&K)...and suddenly, when Sonic 2 lost big to SMW despite ALL this kind of information, SFF is suddenly accused because of a RIVALRY? More people believe more SFF was seen in Sonic 2/SMW than CT/Secret of Mana, two RPGs on the same system by the same company, because of a rivalry?! You would think they would stick more to their guns then in a rivalry... ...but whatever... ...now though, people are saying the entire Sonic series is being SFF'd by the two SSB games that're out, and I'm tired of this quick. If you would, please take the time to re-read my analysis...hell, if you like, replace Halo with KH whenever possible...and tell me this doesn't make more sense. For a two-game series, this is both the series with the absolute-strongest game and has its two games on seperate systems. Sonic the character does great for itself, although not quite so much when compared to other Noble Niners...but its games, please, I want to be done with this. Sure my Crew upset special went wrong, but I don't exactly care. I only
like half the Sonic series, whereas both games in the SSB series are in

If you think you're the only one who has SSBM as their #1 game, you
obviously weren't around when a Board 8 List was done based on the

Of course it could -- there are probably two or three top Sonic games
instead of just one TOP Sonic game, and Sonic 2 is only one of them.
Considering how expansive and old Sonic is, not to mention classic,
doing this good against a two-game pony like SSB isn't surprising (and
I would have thought it'd do even better). As-is though, again, I
implore you to compare Sonic to CV and SSB to KH/Halo and tell me why

HA! wait until SMB breaks 80% SSB!!! then Sonic will be past where he's supposed to be!! plus, if this Mario vs. Sonic rivalry is supposed to create SFF, then will someone please explain to me how the bloody heck SHADOW the Hedgehog scored 45% against Mario? any rivalry should help the weaker entrant perform BETTER, not worse. It won easily mainly because it was on... practically everyone's list.
Only a few people had it as their #1 game. IIRC, Final Fantasy VII had

The reasoning for my wording there is because, without that rivalry,
nobody would have looked for SFF in Sonic 2/SMW. Instead though, for
the longest time people just looked at that match and thought "that
can't be right", then blamed it on both games having high play-rates.
However, SMW is arguably the #4 Mario game and Sonic 2 is arguably the
#1 Sonic game. Rivalry aside, if you're a fan of both series and you
have to pick, you would figure more people would have sided with Sonic

Not necessarily. Just because it's possibly Mario's #4 game doesn't mean it won't be favored over Sonic's #1 game. Though I don't believe either. I say it's Mario's #3 vs. Sonic's #2, personally. Thus, why I said arguably (I'm saying it too much lately, heh)...and I
agree, not necessarily, but when the #1/#2 Sonic game gets 29% against
the #3/#4 Mario game, perhaps one should stop thinking so highly of the
Sonic series, especially with everything else I've been saying. Look back at all of those polls I posted. Look back and see that there is no dominant favorite in the Sonic series and Sonic 2 is #1 or #2 in the series. Look back at my analysis. Look back at the past two generations, where SSB stormed into the generations that Sonic missed out on such great opportunity and potential. Look back at the Top 100 List and see that, despite being behind three other Mario games, SMW still outranks Sonic 2 by fifteen ranks. Everything that has happened with Sonic (except Shadow), in hindsight, is reasonable and justifiable without the mention of SFF. --- Miss my Four-Pack Of Fun? The disparity is much too large for the picture to have made a
difference between winning and losing. At most, Sonic could have gotten
