One of the great mysteries of life is why people think Sonic is
going to win this match. Oh, Sonic got 70% on DMC? Big ****ing whoop.
SSB triples DMC with ease. As for SSB having only two games, it doesn't
matter. Kingdom Hearts already proved that yesterday. Add in the fact
that SSB is much more popular than KH or Halo and you've got the most
overhyped match of the whole contest. SSB with 58%. WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY? I WAS RIGHT? And to think, you all just brushed me off. Geez. I love gloating at times like this. --- "Thank you, Mario. But our princess is in another castle." -Toad in Super Mario Bros. |

Gloat all you want, your argument was still bull. No way DQ gets close
to DMC, it's simply not that strong. Either Sonic brings this down

Can I actually get an analysis crew point??? Seriously, if SSB keeps
this up, I will point back to Sonic 2 horribly underperforming against
SMW. Plus, outside of Mario Kart, Nintendo has been outright dominant in this contest. There were just too many intangibles pointing towards SSB... All Sonic really had was "SSB is not a series". --- *Is therealmnm* Proud Supporter of Mega Man X in Best. Series. Ever. Contest |

This is one of the reasons I love these contests so much. Everything
can change with the blink of an eye. Someone like steve illumina, who
had an amazing 21-match winning streak, can be cast aside as quickly
and effortlessly as a feather. After holding the board in the palm of
his hand for three weeks, he joins the rest of us. To further
demonstrate the nature of the beast, if Resident Evil beats Street
Fighter, he will actually finish behind me in the Guru Contest, despite
my losing one more match AND my 1000 Karma account. It's gotta hurt, steve. I'm sorry. --- Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your WOOOOOOOOORLD!!! |

You know, since the Game Contest, although SSB is loved in this board
maybe even more than in the boards of SSB/M, there's always been doubts
on it and understamating it on close matches. And I have never figure

I'm not sold on that. I'd still take DMC, but DQ could do well for
itself -- I mean, come on, look at what SSB is doing to Sonic right
now, heh. Hence, SFF. I'm not going to suddenly be deluded on DMC and DQ's natural strength because of Sonic underperforming against another Nintendo series -- hell, I explained my position on this right before the match began. If SSB beats Sonic to make DQ > DMC (and with the way it's rising it could very well do it), this is SFF. Period. --- Do not kill. Do not rape. Do not steal. Why would this be SFF. Did Sonic get absorbed into Super Smash Brothers? Because of the whole "Nintendo vs. Sega" competition from the early and mid '90s. A lot of Nintendo fans remember it well and still support Nintendo, look how badly SMW slaughtered Sonic 2 in the Spring 2004 contest. There is no way I'd buy this performance, should it continue to keep up, being all SSB's strength. If the idea of SMW SFFing Sonic 2 holds ground, which I believe it does, that idea should certainly hold true here. Neglecting it? I've had it as the frontrunner for a long time; this
just happens to be the only indication we'll ever get of it -- and it

I know with sff it won't directly be there. But we're usually smart
enough to look past sff and determine a semi valid result. I was under
the impression that, accounting for sff, smash still wasn't seen as in
