Sonic...my hero...bring me the Leaderboard glory! Now I KNOW you will be the one to do it!

I won't do none of that.

Oh, wait, the OTHER Sonic...the one that loses tomorrow...

And here I was thinking Halo would be the 'upset' pick.

Well...it was on this board, at least. Wow, the board owns the casuals again. Not that the statistic is flawed or anything...

So that means a large number of the people who had Halo beating Castlevania had it beating Kingdom Hearts, too.

After Final Fantasy/Diablo, we shouldn't be THAT surprised. For a what if:

If SMB maintains this percentage, what does Warcraft get on Diablo for SMB to be equal to FF?

Looks like SMB should finish with 80+% with ease here, perhaps breaking 85%. And let me reiterate that I hope not to hear any "GTA would be doing better!" stuff. GTA would be oblitered by Super Mario Bros too.

Why would those two instances stop a perfect bracket?

well, we would lose our last 3 perfect gurus. we could still get a perfect bracket without them, but i kinda doubt it.

Like I said; GTA got exposed. And Diablo > Warcraft was quite a popular idea before WC > GTA and FF's massacre of Diablo. I *know* I saw a bunch of people that would have taken Diablo over GTA but not WC.

Okay guys, I have a VERY tough time believing Diablo>Warcraft with WoW around.

I said that Diablo wouldn't be too much weaker than Starcraft/Warcraft. Diablo is a force around here, which is exactly why that whupping by Final Fantasy was so impressive. But again, Final Fantasy is the most powerful thing we've ever seen.

People need to understand just how much more powerful than everything else the Big Three really are.

But Final Fantasy > SMB. There's really no reason for an SMB>FF bandwagon. I wouldn't say it's insane, but FF has to be the clear favorite, no matter what.

I still see it getting 45% at most. And I was the only guy I recall in this topic mumbling about 80+% for this match.

Unless you think SMB>Zelda. Which, while I think SMB will be closer to Zelda than Mario is to Link and Mario 3 to OoT, I don't see happening.

And we certainly couldn't imagine WC touching GTA. Even without rallying, it would've got darn close. Diablo may simply be intrinsically stronger, even without rallying.

Unless you think SMB>Zelda. Which, while I think SMB will be closer to Zelda than Mario is to Link and Mario 3 to OoT, I don't see happening.

Yeah. I mentioned to Leonhart on AIM that Mario's best shot at ever beating Zelda would be in this contest. I still doubt its ability to do so, but it's somewhat notable that Mario has been on a big rise here as of late. He did much better in that character poll, his strongest year ever was in 2005, and then SMB's really good performances. I think its chances look better with these types of performances, but FF is still undoubtedly the favorite to win the whole thing.

Interestingly, I was talking to Mumei and he mentioned how the Big Three would all perform similarly on these types of opponents, which seems like it'd make some sense just given how far above everything these three are. It probably wouldn't be too surprising to see Final Fantasy just have no trouble taking care of SMB though.

Probably the massive board vote. No one has WC getting past Mario so it has all the bracket vote, and there are likely a bunch of people pissed that it beat GTA in the first place. Plus, who doesn't like Mario? <.<

So Halo had somewhere between 28.71% and 68.51% of the brackets taking it to win round 2.

It probably had a majority of them (50%+).

Well, for somebody only getting 17.30% of the vote right now, pulling in 222 votes in one update is pretty impressive, really.

Granted, SMB is getting nearly 1000, but still.
