SSB has the character advantage, though Heh, people are going to be voting for characters as opposed to series here just because the big three Nintendo characters are in it? The picture isn't so ridiculously one-sided as FFX/SSBM was to skew the results, I think. If you're a Sonic fan, chances are you're going to like Sonic's side of the picture. --- Some stories can't be told by words. Some legends are meant to die. I'd take SSB over Mario Kart, but it would be a lot closer than most think. --- Organization XIII - Number III - Xordac Currently Playing - Suikoden V, Capcom vs. SNK 2 |

but it really is not that popular to beat what is currently (as in, this gen) Nintendo's best selling series. Heh, if SSBM didn't have a couple years' head start on Double Dash, it probably wouldn't be the best-selling GameCube game. Mario Kart games outsell Zelda games here. --- Some stories can't be told by words. Some legends are meant to die. Knowing your enemy is the quickest path to victory. |

Also, for the SMB > FF supporters, Warcraft would have to defeat
Diablo with 62.85% in order for the two to be equal (likely without the
effects of rallying thrown in). I don't think Warcraft would even come
close to that with rallying. --- Some stories can't be told by words. Some legends are meant to die. Knowing your enemy is the quickest path to victory. |

The picture advantage is the least of your worries, Sonic fans. How
about you start worrying about the Nintendo advantage? How about the
fact that Sonic always seems to do well until he absolutely jobs it to
a Nintendo game? In other words, stop talking about the god damn picture, for Christ's sake. I can't believe we're back to pictures meaning a God damn thing all of a sudden. rallying, they have no chance, so they don't rally, and there is a

That cause its not a Tueday(when WOW servers go down for updates so
many WOW players go to forums). Plus the fact that their not point of
rally. Warcraft is gonna lose anyway. WC is pretty weak with no rallying seeing the vote totals so far. With no rallying Starcraft>Diablo>Warcraft Heck even with rally, I'm not sure all the new voters would vote Warcraft over Diablo or Starcraft. Most of the WOW players I know would stop playing WOW and go directly to Diablo 3 when that comes out. |

BUY OR SELL: The Zelda/MMX result wasn't SFF, it was just Zelda being really dominant. With no rallying Starcraft>Diablo>Warcraft Series > Game. The way I see it: With no WoW: Diablo > Warcraft > Starcraft With WoW: Warcraft > Diablo > Starcraft. Rallying is not an issue in determining those rankings. WoW is hardly the biggest game ever here, but it does have some natural strength. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

I just realized something. We've seen five Blizzard entries in these
contests. Had a predictor sided with Blizzard each of those times, his
choice would have met or (greatly) exceeded expectations four of those
times. For all the flack that Blizzard gets about being overrated and
feared just because of Starcraft, going 4-1 in the Elated/Disappointed
meter is pretty damn good. --- Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your WOOOOOOOOORLD!!! |

It doesn't particularly matter if we adjust Mega Man X or not. This

Leon: Could you have made a worse correlation? If there is one thing that diminishes the awesomeness of Magus/Knux, it is that that match has become the posterboy of any voting shifts whatsoever, oftentimes incorrectly. It doesn't particularly matter if we adjust Mega Man X or not. This stats won't have any use for anything else. If, by chance, we actually DO have a second Series Contest, the stats will likely be so outdated that it'd be pointless to use them. I agree that the stats won't matter that much but it's not because the stats will be outdated, but rather that MMX isn't ahead of much in the bracket and we have MM as a helpful indicator. Even granted the debate of their varying strengths, we know more or less that MM can't be too far off. Additionally, if the 32 man bracket helps us with anything, it's that there is less transitvity to worry about, and Suikoden is the only thing behind that 4 pack. Lastly, if we have a series contest in let's say 2 years from now, I think most of the stats shifts due to game releases/appearence (without accounting for shifts in the voting population) will be relatively minor. Many of the big powerhouses, Zelda, FF, MM, CV, etc. and the best standing example, Mario, have been well ingrained into video game history. Only newer series will face larger effects and it would be relatively minor compared to let's say, characters. --- SC2k6: 23/24 Perfect brackets left to leap: 124 Today: Bracket:SMB Vote: Warcraft |

Well, with the amount of new games for all of these series that will
inevitably come out before we even think about another Series Contest
(Twilight Princess, FFXII and maybe FFXIII, Super Mario Galaxy, Sonic
the Hedgehog, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May
Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto IV, Halo 3, Metroid Prime 3, Pokemon
Diamond/Pearl, maybe Kingdom Hearts III, and maybe Resident Evil 5),
the stats won't have a lot of bearing on things. Sure, the Big Three will still be above everything else and the ordering there will still be the same, but underneath, I'd say it'd be more up for grabs. --- SC2K6 Nominations: Squall, Roxas, Serge, Seifer, Laguna, The Prince of Persia, Nightmare, Sub-Zero, Captain Falcon, Raiden |
