I don't get it... .40*47 + .60*56 = 52.4%, yet CV has significantly less. I guess that means a higher percentage of IE people have voted already, or the big increase in voters since that poll is skewed toward IE.

Not like it means a whole lot, but KH was .01 from it's final percentage at 4:05 and Castlevania was .02 off at 4:20. I think Castlevania has the advantage here.

Way to go CJayC for that info. It's great when he shares that kind of stuff.

And the "night people are more likely to use non-IE browsers" is almost certainly true, I would think. So this is a bit of good news for KH, not bad. Though the match is still a near toss-up, with CV having a slight edge.

I think with the IE thing, maybe Firefox users are more proud of using it and wanted to vote in the poll, while IEers just don't give a ****, so there's actually a lot more IE users than polls indicated. I dunno... just a wild theory.

There could be an overlap with European voters and Firefox users. Firefox actually has a higher market share in that continent compared to North America. The effect is probably not all that large though.
LeonhartForever | Posted 7/21/2006 1:51:37 AM | message detail
Plus, we're going to have a lot more people voting in this poll than in that IE/Firefox poll.

The same Europe that hasn't seen KH2 yet. This poll is far from over, but I still want to see CV pull this off.

Plus, we're going to have a lot more people voting in this poll than in that IE/Firefox poll.

Obviously, but most small polls will still reflect similar percentages when more people are polled. Most matches end within a few percentage points as they were 10000 votes in. Or you could easily take what Ceej said and say that wa sonly for a couple thousand votes, for other times the percentages for the browsers were different.

CV had its highest percentage on halo about nine or ten hours into the match, so it probably still has a good deal of time left to build its lead. I'm not convinced kh will do anything significant during the daytime either, but you never know, The smallest shift could give this match a new outcome given how close it is.

And with that monster of an update, CV goes ahead 75- votes, and breaks over 51%.

I don't think comparing alucard to CV gives us an accurate measure of its voting patterns, its already proven itself to not be a complete joke with the day vote like alucard is.

On a second look you're right on that asccount, however gaining 1% on harvest moon is hardly impressive. It isn't going to be able to absolutely kill cv with the day vote, so the lead can't get too large if kh is going to come back.

It would be likely that halo is very strong with the day vote. Losing 1% in the day to it is actually somewhat good. I dion't know, I just don't see kh being an absolute monster with the day vote. It will start doing better, but I don't think it'l be enough. I could easily be wrong though.

Kay Aitch is stalling here and there, but this lead could break 1000 soon here. It needs to make a move soon, because we're not going to get any dramatic trends out of this contest. It'll be a gradual push, and it needs to start it as this day vote comes -- otherwise, it'll just end up as a more impressive Halo.
