Pokemon's gains keep getting larger and larger! Heh, if it limits
Metroid's gain on the next update to 3 or less, it'll win a 15 minute

Well, Samus actually has a pretty good night vote. The only time she
lost it last year was against Frog, who is notorious for being really
strong right out of the gate and then tanking in percentage for the

Yeah, which is why the Metroid series one of the few in this contest
that will be weaker than its lead character. Or at least I'm assuming,
it's had to make certain of that, but not without very good reason. The

So for series that will end up weaker than their lead characters...Metroid, Kirby, DMC...and potentially Diablo, methinks. This match just makes me scratch my head at Samus' popularity more and more. Kirby and Dante are one thing -- mainly because they're cool/awesome. But Samus is a hair's breadth away from Master tap dancin' Chief. I'm nearly as puzzled on her strength now as I was on Crono's, before I was hit by the realization that CT was the #3 game here. Speaking of which, I'm on a replay of CT, and it seems far better now than when I first played it for some reason. Probably in some part because I've learned to ignore the lack of personality in any character aside from Magus and focus on enjoying the game's other qualities. --- Do not kill. Do not rape. I think this round has the potential to be the "WTF round" with so many
strange things that could happen. With that said, Fact or Fiction!: FACT or FICTION: 1) Fire Emblem outperforms Soul Calibur on Metal Gear. 2) Kingdom Hearts beats Castlevania...and it isn't close (we're talking 55%+ here). 3) Warcraft manages to escape the doubling from Mario. 4) Sonic upsets SSB...and it isn't close. 5) Final Fantasy fails to triple Mega Man. Zelda > FF bandwagon ensues. 6) Street Fighter upsets Resident Evil. 7) There will be Capcom SFF in SF/RE, meaning the winner will get at least 55% of the vote. --- Organization XIII - Number III - Xordac Currently Playing - Suikoden V, Capcom vs. SNK 2 |

It'd be more surprising for the people here if CV beat KH with 55%, not
the other way around. In fact, people here would be shocked and up in
arms if CV managed to outperform Halo on it (and I would never stop

Fiction, I think Castlevania beats Kingdom Hearts with closer to 57%, I wouldn't call it a fact though because I'm not arrogant like most people calling something a lock when it's not. 3) Warcraft manages to escape the doubling from Mario. 5 I say is fact, mostly because Mega Man WILL come much closer to FF
than Zelda, and then idiots who don't know Mega Man gets SFFed by Zelda

Well actually I didn't just wake up... but I did just read through what I missed in this and last stats topic before posting. >_> Pokemon has been pretty much splitting the vote with metroid for a while now... it might start coming back soon. I wouldn't count on it, but it would be awesome if it did. Y'know, if you count Red/Blue/Green/Yellow, instead of Yellow being
seperate, Pokemon becomes the highest selling game of all time. --- 3rd overall in the "10 Best Games Ever" contest (Score 11/27%). 15th overall in the "Summer 2005 Character Contest" (Score 204). |

I thought that Pokemon should be a fair bit stronger than Kirby, but
for some reason I still didn't see it getting anywhere close to
Metroid. This is a big surprise. (But nowhere near Magus/Knuckles,

Match 19 - Metal Gear vs Fire Emblem Another one sided match for Metal Gear to be honest. First round it came up just short of 70% on Soul Calibur, not the greatest of performances but more or less where I thought it would be, and I think that's more to do with strength from SC than any weakness on the part of Metal Gear. In any case, you can't call a comfortable doubling weak. Fire Emblem? It won in Ulti blowout fashion against Silent Hill in what's effectively its final. Only question now is whether it can match Soul Calibur's numbers to come second in the four pack. I think it might be quite close, although I'm leading towards it failing to make it. The best it can hope for is to avoid a doubling but I really can't see it. I think it avoids the trebling but still fails to make 30%. Besides, we're just quibbling over fractions here, this match has no effect on anything but the (lol) xstats. We all know that Metal Gear will win, almost certainly beat whoever wins tomorrow's much more interesting match and then lose to Zelda. Bracket says: Metal Gear Favourites bracket says: Soul Calibur Vote says: Metal Gear Prediction: Metal Gear with 70.26% Fun fact of the day: Using Kirby's taunt in sudden death mode is extremely funny. Castlevania has a chance (not the largest) to break 55 on Kingdom Hearts. 3) Warcraft manages to escape the doubling from Mario. It won't get 15k worth of rallied votes in an expected blowout. Fiction 4) Sonic upsets SSB...and it isn't close. Might well end up being Fact, but I'll be normal and say Fiction. 5) Final Fantasy fails to triple Mega Man. Zelda > FF bandwagon ensues. Faction. Zelda SFFed MMX, FF will not. That said, FF still might have the raw srength to JUST break the 75%. 6) Street Fighter upsets Resident Evil. Fiction, and I can't wait to gloat to illumina. 7) There will be Capcom SFF in SF/RE, meaning the winner will get at least 55% of the vote. Faction again. RE will get 55%, but there will be no Capcom SFF. I mean, you don't have "Capcom-Fanboys" that worship every Capcom game. Or, at least, not that many. You get something like that with Square or Nintendo, but not Capcom. I said in a number of topics that Pokemon > Kirby. that was more

Yeah, because Zelda is just going to SFF into the ground. And it would
probably do the same to Pokemon (but in a lesser degree) if Pokemon
