Yeah but the original XBox atleast had Halo and the hype for Halo 2 to carry it. While I fully expect Halo 3 to be big, there isnt nearly the amount of hype for it that there was for Halo 2. --- Where am I? |

pictures in this contest, at least at this point, are completely
meaningless. pictures only matter when something is unknown, and with
the exception of Fire Emblem (which is going to get whipped no matter
what), who hasn't heard of these series'? it would need to be one
badass looking picture of Snake/Sora proportions to change the voter's

Random first round impressions: -Every match broke 100k votes, which is a first. -Three entrants broke 100k votes individually. It has never been done prior. -Tidus/Ganon 2003 is the highest non-July 2006 match in terms of first round votals. Four matches from this contest are now above said Tidus/Ganon affair on the list. Basically, holy crap @ votals, and nice job to Ceej and Cnet for the site redesign. It's clearly helped poll traffic by a mile. We haven't seen votes like this since 2003, and they're bound to go way up once the Final Four hits. Speaking of which, BigCow's individual vote total logic states that Mario, Zelda and FF all have relatively equal chances of winning this thing. I know a lot of people here will say otherwise and hand the contest to FF anyway, but a lot of people aren't half as smart as BigCow. Granted FF is the heavy favorite, but Mario or Zelda giving it a run wouldn't shock me at all. My one complaint is that these new vote totals' potential is being put to waste on a 32-entrant field. I know a lot of people here will say otherwise and hand the contest
to FF anyway, but a lot of people aren't half as smart as BigCow. Ahh, so the original Legend of Zelda had just as much of a chance to win the Games Contest as Final Fantasy VII. It means that individual vote totals can tell you a lot with entrants
of relatively equal strength. The best example to use is when BC
mentioned that Chrono Trigger, LTTP and Final Fantasy 6 all had great
shots of winning D16 despite everyone throwing CT >>>>

No offence Ulti but do you honestly believe that crap? The only

But you still have to take more than JUST individual vote totals into
consideration. Final Fantasy managed nearly as many votes as Super
Mario Brothers despite getting 6-7% less of the vote, and got MUCH more
than Zelda despite getting 3% less. And to answer your question more seriously, the only thing that can
boost a gaming site's popularity is a need of gaming information.
Everything from November 2004 and beyond has caused virtually every
gaming site's growth to go up. Go to Alexa and see for yourself. And I meant that the poll location was switched, though I do like the new layout regardless. Seriously, the original Final Fantasy and the original Legend of

Since the last two posts were about pictures, I actually really liked
yesterday's picture. Jill looked great, and I thought there side was
nicely done. It was a good pic. I like the theme of today's picture, but I've never been as big a fan of sprites as everyone else. That said, I still enjoy it, just saying I like regular themed ones better. --- Revenge is a dish best served cold. ~ Old Klingon Proverb |
