FFXII/MGS4/SSBB/SMG/TP Not really. TP > FF12, the other three are a little more debateable but it should be clear who wins when the games are actually *released*. --- Do not kill. Do not rape. Uh considering SSBM beat FFX. I wouldnt say FFXII over any of the others is guarnteed at all. Even though I do agree Twilight Princess will be the strongest of the pack. --- Where am I? |

The way you make it sound, the overabundance of new games would be simply scary. But seriously, holding a contest so close to MGS4's release would either be unfair to MGS4 or its competition, depending on whether it underperforms or overperforms because of that. We don't have anything to go by because in the first game contest, the most recent game still came out many, many months before the contest started. Just a random thought. Not that I oppose MGS4 at all, but people were making the same argument for Twilight Princess last year when discussing this year. Is there ever going to be a year where we can hold a game contest without that sort of problem? Heck, the game contest was held a few months prior to the incredible Flood of Fall 2004, starring GTA:SA and Halo 2 among others. --- Mario's not fun btw and only sells on nostalgia. I mean, you're just walking from one side of a level to the other at a tenth of Sonic's speed... -vego |

Depends on how well FFXII is received. The GotY poll will be
interesting. Are there any GotY polls with a FF AND a Zelda game in

FFXII benefits a lot more from recency than SSBB. Remember the GotY
poll, remember how close SSBM/FFX was, and I don't give anything else a

Zelda fans arent nearly as patient as Mario ones. This Zelda game
really has only been delayed a year (Nov 2005-> Mar 2006-> Nov
2006). The new Mario game was originaly thought to come out in 2004 and
might not make this year. --- Where am I? |

At the 1:00 mark, this match has 12992 votes. I'm also not too enthused about the year of gaming to come, although
that's mainly because I am loathe to buy any system that's not a Wii
thanks to the ridiculous price points. So, I'll likely rent MGS4 and
won't leave the house for the rental period...and other than that I'll
buy TP with the money I had saved up for it back in 2004. -_- Other than that there's SSBB (which I wouldn't be getting at launch if it didn't have Snake)...and that's it for me. I won't bother with MP3 despite loving the first two, I *may* bother with SMG if it proves to be what we've been waiting for, and I would get FF12...except I still need to actually play Final Fantasy X. --- Do not kill. I'll get it eventually. Just when I'm in a more financially secure
situation. Sorry Kutaragi, but the PS3 doesn't make me want to get a
second job. And I can only skip so many meals before people get antsy. Back in June, if you saved up something like $45 a week you would have enough for a PS3, two games, and another controller. So just increase that by a bit and you're set. (The PS3 will likely have gotten a significant price drop -- $100 -- by the time MGS4 comes out anyway. If my past experiences are any indication though, it'd probably be in
my best interest to just skip TP and just get that Phantom Whatzit game
that's coming out. After all, Majora's Mask trashed Ocarina of Time in

I know that. That's how it's supposed to be. But it seems to have been
extended, and if CJayC did it he did an awful job of it. Just check the
