Is everyone so sure Kirby beats Aeris?

...I'm not.

I'm not quite so sure, especially after KH2 and any potential overperfoming in either Snake/Bowser or Bowser/Kirby...but still, my brain screams KIRBY at me for that match.

I'm not comfortable with that either. She was one of what, three playable characters that weren't thrown into AC to get UBER FANBOY MARKOUTS?

Mario's not fun btw and only sells on nostalgia. I mean, you're just walking from one side of a level to the other at a tenth of Sonic's speed... -vego

Actually, everything Aeris did in that movie was basically fanservice for her fans. None of her appearances were really...necessary.

Honestly, you could take everyone out of that movie except Cloud and have him fight the air constantly and it would be extremely similar. <.<

That's a move in the right direction. A little bit higher, Zelda...

I thought the explosives on the highway were pretty effective. Granted, Rude was responsible for them, not Reno, but still...HE WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED!

BOLD STATEMENT: The biggest reason why FFVII is so popular in the first place is because Cloud is clinically insane. Damn right.

Hmm. Well, the parts where she's able to be seen might could be viewed as fanservice, but her role in the movie as a whole was rather necessary. But yeah ...

Yeah, reaching down to throw Cloud higher was absolutely necessary.

I'm not saying Aeris herself was unimportant in the story, but her physical appearances themselves were, for the most part, basically unnecessary.

How about, he reads an awesome one, then makes it? Huh? HUH?

Now, on to a more serious topic... what do you think would be worse, having the contest season end in early November, or nixing the character battle entirely and have one next year, with twice as many possibilities for contest-to-contest variation? I'm not terribly fond of either option, truth be told.

That'd be a good idea. We could have the character battle in the winter, then next summer a second game contest. All the big early titles for the PS3 and Wii would be eligible by then... *drools*

Yeah, I've basically given up on Cloud beating Link at this point (I can't envision the match taking place except right as TP is coming out, which means massive hype and massive Nintendo influx). I'd like to see how much of a difference the season itself has, and what better way then to do a proper 'Winter Contest'?

Hey, maybe the Winter Voters will prefer Sephiroth or something. <.<

You could apply that to just about any time frame, really. Big games are constantly coming out, and you're likely to always have some unfair casualty. It just so happens it'd be MGS4.

Yeah. Contests without a debatable winner are always preferred.

Not just that but having a character contest in between Twilight Princess release and MGS4/SSBB release is the best chance that a character is going to have to finnaly break into the Noble Nine before it becomes inpentrable.

I can't think of a bigger PS3 game than MGS4 though. You'd basically be castrating Sony. Not that NintendoFAQs would mind, or anything.

We would all send in feedback tickets that demand the nominations not go up until MGS4 is released.

I'm not sure if voting patterns have shifted more heavily towards the first hour or so since the start of the contest, but LOZ is currently over 1,000 votes ahead of where it was at this time against civilization. Holy ****.

Dear Ceej,

I demand that the speculative Summer Contest featuring Games that is predicated on the Character contest running through Winter not start until MGS4 is released. This is despite the MGS series and their propensity for delays, so add in a good half a year or so to your projections.

Oh, and Soul Caliber is a far more common misspelling than Crhono. But Chrono would have owned as a 7 seed regardless.

Your friend.
