I love the 3D Metroids but don't care too much for the 2D ones at all.

Also, while tranny likes FF, he only likes the relatively less popular

Match 17 - Legend Of Zelda vs Mega Man X So, we've got the first round done with now. I don't know whether we've had any huge upsets as I'm writing this in the process of Metroid pwning Kirby, but even if there are, it's not going to have any influence on the outcome of this match. Zelda, as we all knew, is a powerhouse, which heavily beat Civilisation as expected, but to the surprise of many, came very, very close to clocking up a 90% score and managed a ridiculous total of over 100,000 votes, which surpassed all previous records. That's a truly staggering amount of votes, whichever way you choose to look at it. Mega Man X did more or less what was expected of it against Suikoden, hitting the low 70's. Nothing spectacular, nothing worrying, it's pretty clear what's going to happen. We've seen Link beat down Mega Man before in 2004, with a hint of SFF. I'm not sure how that will translate to series, but I don't think this one is going to be pretty at all. If anything, it'll be downright ugly, and I don't think the high vote totals we've been getting are going to make things look any better. That's not really the point. We've already seen Kratos is capable of
breaching the fodder line. We haven't seen a non-SF/MK fighting game
character do that much. Fighting games, almost by definition, are

Mushroom Division At this point, I really doubt Nightmare's ability to win a match against Kratos Aurion...and I really don't think he should return, really. How about moving Kratos (GoW) up here and subbing Sub-Zero for Nightmare? Tidus/DK could be good. Is DK that much stronger, and is Tidus *that* weak? I also like the Ryu/Tidus matchup in the second round, though that's really Ryu's to lose. Maybe if you switched Tidus/DK with my imaginary Sub-Zero/Kratos match, it'd be more interesting...not that Ryu wouldn't kick the crap out of Subby, but it'd be interesting to see by how much. Halo Division I like this division in some ways, but I hate that Raiden and Frog are given unwinnable matches. In fact, switch Yoshi and Frog and you suddenly have a much, much better bracket -- it basically asks if Raiden is stronger or weaker than Liquid Snake, and that's been a point of contention for many. Falcon is wasted in his spot, put him somewhere else. Chaos Division Ocelot/Rikku is wasted, hell Ocelot probably shouldn't even return at the expense of Liquid. Liquid/Rikku would be better, but still likely an easy win for the FFX gurl. Magus/Seifer is not a good match, and Zidane's return is just weird in this situation. Magus/Rikku would be better, but you just have a lot of wasted potential sitting around in this division that would be better used elsewhere (like Bowser, try using a division like this to set up something interesting like Sonic/Snake or even Sonic/Mega Man (yeah, it underseeds one, but so what). Cardboard Box Division I would've liked Diablo/Riku last year, but I think KH2 is too much now. Vincent/Kratos (GoW) is a waste, as I said before. Throw Bowser in here and it's a bloodbath, stick him in Kratos' place and you're Golden. It's super-stacked no matter how you put it, but for some reason Snake and these three always get discussed together. Guardia Division Blargh. Mewtwo, wasted. Ness is underrated and probably beats Gordon without too much trouble. Kirby/Aeris could be good, but I see Kirby getting to Crono without too much trouble. And Ryu Hayabusa is also wasted, he'd have any of the newcomers with their hands full and then some. Spira Division ...Auron as a 1 seed? Anywho, this division is another good one, but Shadow and Vivi have no place here. If Wario returns I'd like it to be because of SSBB, and if he boosts from that he could be used elsewhere. Metool Division If you're going to have Fisher as an 8 seed, stick him up against Snake. Mega Man will probably blow out Jay better than Snake did anyhow. Alucard/Chun Li is good if you *really* believe Snake/Sora, otherwise Alucard without even trying. Soma will probably be closer to Simon Belmont than Alucard, Kefka will win that match decisively I think. The King is fun fodder, at least. Boring division, though. Zebes Division I like Dante/Knux, but that's about it. Prince has a slight shot against Fox but I don't like his chances one bit, and Yuna takes Jill with ease. The rest is obvious. A few stellar divisions, but most seem dull. I like the setups between the winners of the divisions: Samus/Mega with the winner against Crono, Sonic v. the Snake mess and then the winner against Mario, potential Mario/Crono finals. Overrated, sure, but...Seifer, though? Even if you account for
potential Snake/Squall SFF (god no matter how many times I say it, it
sounds even weirder than Snake/Sora) and give him a healthy KH2 boost

I deserve some sort of recognition for getting a relevant 500 post and not just random crap, dammit! >_> But seriously, is this match SFF or is it just Zelda being a beast? If it's the latter, Zelda looks to be in pretty decent contention again for the crown, methinks... but I'm not sure we'd have a way of measuring that, since it's tough to say if it's SFF or not. And my favorite part of that character bracket is Kirby beating Aeris and whomping Luigi. I love it. =) --- This was Ed Bellis.
