But just in general, I've noticed a lot of people that think that the
Mega Man series is tired and were never big fans of it. Of course it
still has plenty of fans, but I do notice those that don't like it. I hardly know anyone
who doesn't like Mario Kart (besides Ulti). It's a hit series by
itself, but it's also insanely popular as a multiplayer game... Mega
Man just doesn't have that same universal popularity of Mario Kart. It
just has a huge core fanbase. Of course.... that doesn't make
too much sense now that I read that line over again. Oh well! I'm on

I acknowledge that, but the thing is, there are a lot of people who aren't really big fans of Mega Man games at all. Mega Man being the king of 90% blowouts makes me think this is incorrect. I think MK has a great shot today, but it's not like there's an anti-Mega Man crowd out there. everyone likes Mega Man, it's just a matter of to what degree. --- xyzzy I lost a sig bet to War13104. I'd like to see Bass in the contest just to show how little people care
about the later Classic Mega Man games. The Super Nintendo was already
released by the time Mega Man 4 came out. There's a reason that only Mega Man 2 and 3 were million sellers and then Mega Man X was the next one... I was as big a gamer as anyone during the NES days. Considering I just confused Driver tanner with danny tanner (which just
shows how foregttable he really is, since I actually have played the

But there are people that just aren't huge fans of his games, especially going up against something as popular as Mario Kart. Yeah, everyone probably likes Mega Man games to some degree. You can say the same thing about Mario Kart games though, too. I'm sure
very few actively *dislike* them, but while I enjoy them I find them
too dull to hold my attention for a prolonged amount of time -- there's
simply not enough to do, and snaking has always come off as a gimmick
to me. A gimmick I can do well, given, but still a gimmick. The only
real exception for me is SMK, and even that pales in comparison to
Diddy Kong Racing or any F-Zero game. I'm not the norm, but it goes to
show that there's little evidence for Mario Kart love and Mega Man love
differing in one way or the other. --- Commit it to memory. |

As much as I like diddy kong racing, it was pretty much just mario kart

No, it was MK with hovercrafts, planes, exploration, BOSSES, and a
storyline that made me feel like I wasn't just racing around in circles

Apro's Half-Assed Analysis (AHAA) Mega Man vs. Mario Kart, that's one doozy of a match. I love the Blue Bomber. Heck, I have the soundtracks of MM1-7, MMX1,2,4 and part of 5 on my iPod. I'm not mad at Capcom for creating rehash after rehash after rehash....I'm mad at them for making sucktacular rehashes also known as MM8 and MMX5-7. If they'd stuck to the formula, who knows how many great MM games they could have made. On the other hand, we've got Mario Kart. When I was young and stupid, I traded away my copy of Mario Kart for a copy of Mario is Missing. Damn was that stupid. I've regretted that for many years. I haven't spoken with that hick Joe in years (for unrelated reasons). Then there was Mario Kart 64. Oh, the good memories. That game kicked ass. I even entered a small MK64 tournament last fall and lost in the semifinals. Double Dash kinda sucked (relatively; it was a decent game in its own right). Mario Kart DS kicked ass though. They brought back all that was great from MK64, tons of old kickass tracks (but why did they have to use the four WORST tracks from Double Dash?), and of course frickin' online WiFi play! Easily the best MK in my opinion. So without any justification other than my own praise for the two series, I'm predicting Mario Kart with 50-53%. --- For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to refer to Gordon Freeman versus Tanner as Schrodinger's Match. -Phoenix Flattener |

I also remember DKR having the most kickass racing battle mode I'd ever played, for what it's worth. ...oh man, DKR would have this match over either of these guys by at least 60%!!! --- Commit it to memory. |

I'll admit, DKR was superior to MK64, but I liked MK64 better. Don't
