Karma Hunter Posted 7/14/2006 1:23:55 AM message detail Ridley isn't close to Kirby, but the point is you can't expect the site to universally side with a certain contestant based on affiliation, even if it is Nintendo. Even if you believe that Starcraft is miles out of Diablo's league, the fact is that as a PC game it got plenty of votes against Nintendo games that are simply not in Kirby's class. The affiliation isn't the thing that matters most, it's the intrinsic strength of the games. In that respect, I think Diablo trumps Kirby hands down. Actually you make a good point with Starcraft. I'd probably agree more on Diablo > Kirby if I had actually paid attention to contests back then. The Elder Scrolls is, IMO, the toughest series to predict in this
bracket. It could either upset Street Fighter or get completely

Well, we always knew Castlevania had some strength to it...just turned
out Halo was overrated enough for it to matter. And while it was
surprising for many that Warcraft actually showed up for the match, I'd
be willing to wager that was GTA flopping, too. I don't know if TES is
going to turn out to be total fodder or become a decent midcarder at

You still believe this after Castlevania and Warcraft? Well, not so much now, but the upset potential is still there however small that may be. For the record, I have my Oracle for Street Fighter somewhere around 65%. I think Marth and Roy may have helped to hype up FE in the first place,
which is what gave it its semi-healthy sales here in the first
place...but if it had those same sales without those two, I would have
still taken it over SH. Honestly, SH just didn't have the intangibles

Yeah I'd likely still take SH had they not been in SSBM. Is PoR
actually good or did it just receive good reviews due to it being like
the 6th RPG for the GC? I was thinking of eventually picking it up, but
ToS got mostly great reviews and I hated it. Even my brother said ToS

I actually can't believe this. FF is doing a little mroe than 5% worse
on a respectable opponent than LoZ and Madden did on fodder! Ugh,
another win for FF. It'll have won 5 out of 8 contests after this
(Cloud in 2k3, Games '04 Sephy in Spring '05, Fall Top 10 Contest, This

Keeping in mind that Final Fantasy's opponent is far stronger than both
Civilization and Madden, here are the individual vote totals for the
