well, it isn't hard to make up percentage when you're getting beat
down this badly, and Diablo the character had a pretty nice day vote.

Yeah, I was going to say it's hard to guarantee anything getting near
150,000 votes again, but if I had to place a sure bet the first thing
that comes to my mind is SMB/FF...that should be the latest we get it

Well, I think 92.xx% on Madden looks better than 87.xx% on
Civilization. Not that fodder matches are really anything to measure

My kneejerk reaction as someone who doesn't frequent this site would be
that Mario's squashing of Madden looks much more impressive. But knowing how horribly unpopular sports games are here, and how unpopular Madden seems in general... In reality, the idea isn't as bad as you're trying to make it out to
be. Tifa almost certainly overperformed on Vyse. Just nobody saw it
that way until after the fact. It's not that he's inconsistent or

I was referring to the Madden/Civ post. You really believe that Mario or Zelda would be doing much different than FF is today? Diablo isn't fodder, but FF, Mario and Zelda are all popular series (I like stating the obvious) that would obviously have a massive overlap in fans. |

| I guess our opinions vary on that then. I'm sure FF is doing better than both series (Yeah I have it winning and I believe it will), but I could see both Mario and Zelda coming fairly close to what FF is doing right now. |

elevated themselves above the rest of the pack to such a level that

| Doubtful, since each FF game is almost like an entire new game in the sense that tons of people love one game (FF6) and hate another (FF7) and vice versa. Now get rid of the hate and yeah. |

Blizzard is so weird in these contests. On the one hand you have
starcraft, diablo the charatcer, and warcraft which all did well for
themselves (even if diablo is relatively weak), and on the other hand
you have kerrigan, and now apparently diablo the series flopping
miserably. Even if FF pull an ff7 vs. oot on loz in the final, diablo
is still looking absolutely pathetic here. It would definitely rank as
fodder unless it can bring itself over 20% in the day (which seems

But that's just the thing...I don't buy Diablo is fodder, not at all. I
still maintain it could probably beat half the field, and while we're
going to have to wait until later to confirm my suspicions...I don't
think FF is going to let up. FFVII/OoT may very well look like a

FFVII/OoT may very well look like a barnburner when this is said and done. I wouldn't count on it. At least some of this has to be diablo being exposed as much weaker then expected.
