What the hell is that on the Diablo side? Shouldn't Diablo be
somewhere in the picture? Especially seeing how this will be the only
match for the series... <_<;;; 3 of the 7 main classes. 3 of the 5 original from DII. A Sorc, a barb, and a Necro. If you're a fan of the series you'd probably appreciate it more than a massive pic of Diablo. --- Explicit Content Cheer Up Emo Kids |

Some of these high picks for Final Fantasy are a bit eye-popping. I
said in the analysis crew topic that since Final Fantasy most likely
wins this contest, the percentage their opponents get will be their
direct x-stats value. People here probably agree that Diablo should be
a pretty strong series. Wouldn't pretty strong be higher than a 20-23%
x-stat value? Or do you think the gap between FF and the high midcard

Why is this board anti-SSB all of a sudden? DQ fans were coming out of
the woodwork recently, and now everyone's getting all cheery about the
possiblity of Sonic upsetting. I guess people would rather jump on the
bandwagon of a longtime hit-or-miss series than stand by two excellent
games. It's also a shame to see everyone so insecure about their
hardcore gamer image (The amount of people who keep praising DQ for its

Oh, I'm not arguing that KH, but one thing that's always come up about
Mega Man is that it's never had one outstanding favorite of the series.
One could see this as a good thing since that means you have alot of
games that people feel is their favorite game of the series...but I
also see it as alot of games that play so much like one-another and
that most people like enough,
but not necessarily does one stand out from the series or like the
series enough -- like if it's like patches for a game, for lack of a
better way to say it. Meanwhile, while Mario Kart probably does have a game that stands out as the favorite (MK64) and would likely beat any Mega Man game, MK's still got several games that would compete or beat MM's games as well. SMK and MK:DS, as I've already mentioned, should be able to fit the bill, and MK:DD!! probably could too. MKSC...I don't know, but I doubt it could beat more than just the lesser MM's... ...but then from there, also think about this: six of the eight MM games (we're assuming the voters tell the difference between Classic and X, so work with me here) were on the NES, and I understand that all of the MM games sold very poorly; MM7 was well-liked on the SNES, though MM8 was a joke to many on the PS. MK has had five systems spanned, and each game has sold 1,000,000+ (again, as I understand it). Also, this is how I see the general consensus of the MM and MK series...I think MK fans feel more like its series has been consistantly good than MM fans feel about its own -- sure, MKSC wasn't so well-received, but the rest have all got their fair share of favorites and are generally liked by the fanbase. MM fans, meanwhile, seem to have one or two favorites and one or two games they feel are their least favorite...less consistant, again, which goes along with the indecisive fanbase I've talked about. It's also hard to bring up being old-school in MM's favor, because this battle is probably the closest first-round match we've seen to two old-school series facing off except for Metroid/Kirby. They've both been around for well over a decade and both have been respected since they started, so it's tough to give MM much of an advantage there...and MM's essentially died lately while MK:DS was GotY-runner-up afew months ago, so it's still got the recency help in its favor. Those are difficult odds to overcome, though certainly not impossible for the classic platformer against the party-racer.
