Nah, I wouldn't expect it to change too much. This just shows how loved DQ is on GameFAQs. ...not much. --- Commit it to memory. |

How can people say that smash brothers was a great series when only two games have been released. It is a great game no question, but people that vote for it over Dragon quest are not thinking of how dragon quest revolutionized the gaming industry as the first graphical RPG. Keep that in mind before you vote! |

I dunno, 73% or something. if this stays up at 78%, I'll be pretty impressed. so much for old series having the power! --- xyzzy I lost a sig bet to War13104. Yes, the same guy who had Kefka over Crono. FOR THE HORDE! |

The thing I love about the SSB/DQ picture is Hero is looking over his
shoulder at the SSB line-up as if to say "AH ****! There's too many of
them!" --- Current Contest Score: 11/11 Next Winner: Super Smash Bros. I'll just put something to fill another line here. |

It would have been pretty sad if one of the 6 went down on this match. The top groups are doing the best again. No group has gotten a 100 prediction percentage yet. Perhaps tommorow? Two people fell off the top 50 today. LiquidZerox12 and Brooodijzer had DMC over Sonic. Dragon Quest isn't old. Its first game came out less than a year ago! How is it even eligible what the crunk!? Now Dragon Warrior... hoo boy, if that had gotten in. --- Raiden is still [!!] nominations short! http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs9/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=27664244 |

Ahh, the board vote. Going to be nice to look at for SSB/Sonic. It would be impressive if SSB could hold the tripling, but I'm predicting the percentage will drop like a rock overnight. --- Moltar Status: Disappointed, I lost my perfect bracket. transience | Posted 7/12/2006 9:07:26 PM | message detail |
SSB wins the board vote easily against Sonic- I'm pretty sure a
significant chunk of the board bracket votes in close matches and most
people picked SSB. I do feel a little better seeing this though. shame for DQ, but nice for the SSB pick. --- xyzzy I lost a sig bet to War13104. Yes, the same guy who had Kefka over Crono. FOR THE HORDE! |

Glad to see reality slapping all the "DQ WILL KEEP IT CLOSE" people in the face. Go Smash Only Smurf called for 40% for Dragon Quest. No chance of getting that ridiculous 85% you predicted, and I doubt it can climb up to 80% either. --- SC2K6 Nominations: Squall, Roxas, Serge, Seifer, Laguna, The Prince of Persia, Nightmare, Sub-Zero, Captain Falcon, Raiden |

SSBM is having a strong start. Much stronger then I expected,
especially with that unbelievable percentage gain after five minutes.
0_o I just realized something. If I had made a favourites bracket it would be doing better then my current serious bracket. lmao that makes me look bad. --- When dictatorship is a fact, revolution becomes a right. ~ Victor Hugo {WoT}~> Board 408 |

This isn't impressing me. This is what I expected Smash to get. I'm still calling Sonic the favorite against SSBM... It'll win with over 72%! ... what? --- Raiden is still [!!] nominations short! http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs9/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=27664244 |

Master Hand, the only SSB character we've seen, increased 10% from five minutes into the poll. 89% ftw! You DO realize that going from 79 to 89 is a MUCH larger jump than anything in the 40-50 range. --- SC2K6 Nominations: Squall, Roxas, Serge, Seifer, Laguna, The Prince of Persia, Nightmare, Sub-Zero, Captain Falcon, Raiden |
dragoontheguy | Posted 7/12/2006 9:10:33 PM | message detail |

It shouldn't be surprising. SSB's doing what it should -- slaughtering
jobber fodder. Yeah, I'd give it the edge against HM and Suikoden, but
for it to be considered in their league was telling. So the question is...how do you think a DMC/DQ match would go? --- Commit it to memory. |
dragoontheguy | Posted 7/12/2006 9:12:31 PM | message detail |
This is actually surprising for some people? I fully expected DQ to get completely thrashed, but I thought about a tripling was in order, maybe. I expect SSB to have a strong enough day vote to push it up to 80% or so, which would kind of surprise me. --- When dictatorship is a fact, revolution becomes a right. ~ Victor Hugo {WoT}~> Board 408 |
SonicRaptor | Posted 7/12/2006 9:13:12 PM | message detail |
So the question is...how do you think a DMC/DQ match would go? I'd give it to DMC with a little under 60% of the vote. Then again, that's just a guess. --- Current Contest Score: 11/11 Next Winner: Super Smash Bros. I'll just put something to fill another line here. |

SSB owning the board vote? No surprise. Now if SSB can hold this percentage? I'll be a bit surprised. And I'd still take DMC over DQ 60-40...for now. --- Moltar Status: Disappointed, I lost my perfect bracket. Super Smash Bros. vs. Dragon Quest - Bracket: SSB - Vote: SSB (9/11) |

Meh. I'm willing to bet that Dragon Quest is total fodder, and that SSB
and Sonic will be pretty close, with hopefully Sonic winning, although
I'm not sure on that. --- Can't think of a good sig. |

Hmm. SSB is still in the game against Sonic, it looks like. Or is it the Tetris syndrome? --- Mario's not fun btw and only sells on nostalgia. I mean, you're just walking from one side of a level to the other at a tenth of Sonic's speed... -vego |

Well so much for SSB dropping in percentage, and owing much of its

*pinches face* >.< If I would only learn to stick with my gut
instead of listening to logic and reason. Every time I change my oracle
pick, it ends up being further away than it used to be. Except that I considered changing Sonic/Dante from 60-40 to 70-30 but didn't. And look what happened. Stupid brain. --- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v674/ImBigBob/PokemonvsMetroid.jpg |

Or is it the Tetris syndrome? possible, but DQ8 should be its main source of strength and that's on a different system. SSB isn't even on a console that a DW game is. --- xyzzy |
SonicRaptor | Posted 7/12/2006 9:16:58 PM | message detail |
DQ is fodder because it's not very well-established in North America.
This is due to all the Dragon Warrior naming, Nintendo watering down
the game and Enix just plain not caring to release 5 and 6 here. Not to
mention them releasing DQ7 a year after the Japanese release (when the
PS1 was being written off for the PS2). Dragon Quest 8 was the first time Square-Enix said "OK, here is the serious North American Dragon Quest game". --- Current Contest Score: 11/11 Next Winner: Super Smash Bros. I'll just put something to fill another line here. |

SSB seems to be more or less stabilizing around 78% It went up over half a percent last update. Not a lot for this early on, but enoguh for me to not think the percentage is stable. --- When dictatorship is a fact, revolution becomes a right. ~ Victor Hugo {WoT}~> Board 408 |
