Kefka's updates have been just as consistent as Vercetti's

Er, so let me follow the logic here.

At some point in the past, someone who didn't clearly appear to be cheating was actually cheating.

Therefore, everyone who appears to not be cheating is cheating.

Bwah?

Warcraft's voting patterns have been every bit as consistent as GTA's have. There is no reason I've seen, other than sheer paranoia about Blizzard games, to suspect cheating at this point.

The thing is, Kefka's updates were consistent compared to Vercetti's. It's just that this match is following the same pattern: The losing game makes a few small cuts into the lead, and then the leading game gets it all back in one update.

As much as I would like GTA to keep that up, I have a feeling Warcraft will get some crazy gain within the next two updates.

Heck, that pattern has been going on for the last nearly 5 hours now. Warcraft's lead has been in the high 500s-low 600s since around the 6:20 mark.

Two steps and you got lost after the first? Let us now thank god that the rest of us aren't so lost, or so prone to Strawman arguments. No one said anything liek you're suggesting, jus tthat it SHOULDN'T BE RULED OUT simply because it looks normal. Vercetti/Kefka looked normal too, therefore normal looking performances can still be cheating and other signs should be considered. That's all.

Another good cut from GTA, but the next update is most important! Does it follow the pattern of four GTA cuts and a huge Warcraft gain or does GTA finally keep this thing going! Find out in ... five minutes!!

Thing is, its been going down since the last 15 minutes

GTA has cut the lead for 15 minutes many times, but Warcraft gains most, if not all, of it back the following update. It is not happening all the time, but it is quite frequent.

Screw numbers, how many other matches have had cheaters caught? It's a short list, but just because someone got their details mixed up (which is awfully common around here at contest time) doesn't mean he was accidentally calling Kefka a Blizzard character.

At the 11:10 mark, this match has 59940 votes. To compare with other matches at this time:

Zelda/Civilization - 50430
Metal Gear/Soul Calibur - 52153
Castlevania/Halo - 53332
Mario/Madden - 54372

...Yeah, this is exactly the kind of match I'd figure would be one of the highest-voted matches of all-time.......

Chiciri, I've been saying all along that cheating is possible. What I was making fun off was the fact that people seem to be using the fact that there isn't anything sign that something suspicious is going on as a sign that something suspicious must be going on. While it is entirely possible that Warcraft is cheating, it is equally possible that GTA is cheating.

It is also very possible that neither of them are cheating. Some people in this topic are so eager to jump on the "Blizzard must be cheating" bandwagon that they seem to be overlooking this fact.
ChichiriMuyo | Posted 7/11/2006 8:15:33 AM | message detail
Well, close matches do tend to run high, and Blizzard games tend to bring in voters it otherwise wouldn't. Of course it should be high.

Of course there's probably no cheating, but it's still suspicious to see two competitors fight back and forth like this. The last time this pattern was so apparent there was cheating. Usually patterns like this aren't as pronounced. It's not abnormal, it's hardly evidence of cheating, but most people are going to tell you it doesn't look right.
