OUR TOWN IS UNDER SIEGE!

Oh man, I'm loving this. I've been dying for a real match... or something that even resembled one. In a way I'm glad my bracket is already screwed. I can root for Warcraft with all of my heart, here.

I just hope WC doesn't win because then we'll have to listen to people claim rallying is such a huge factor forever. If WC wins, it'll do it on its own strength, but so many people will fail to realize that.

This isn't a match. The full might of THE HORDE will crush GTA and might bet SMB and SSB.

Heard it here first.

Actually, I take the day vote comment back. It's as if the new start hour kills any swing we might otherwise see. We've already seen this 9 times, including a match ENGINEERED as to beat records in that aspect.

Hm... It's still kind of early to tell, but it was a pretty highly anticipated match which will usually lead to high vote totals. And it's also not disappointing in terms of closeness.

GTA gains 40 votes, but loses percentage. And percentage is what's going to draw the WoWers to rally.

The first ten minutes, GTA got around 700 votes per five-minute update, while Warcraft averaged around 550. Since then, GTA's dropped down to around 550 with Warcraft slightly doing better.

That last update, GTA did the same but Warcraft dripped below 500. Interesting.

Maybe a fluke, or is the rush ending prematurely?

I'm curious - why do WC supporters think server downtime will help WC? That means less opportunity to rally.

Or are you ignoring those 100 votes that GTA lost in one update? You think that's all the rallying WoW has? The servers aren't even down yet.

Because everyone knows that when WoWers aren't PLAYING WoW, they're talking about it on the forum. Making it easier to rally them since they're already on the internet instead of in the game.

I... well, I don't want to say there is cheating, but it might not be so impossible... I hate making that accusation though.

well, I think it's fair to say that there's going to be some vote rallying no matter what. there's already been topics made on WoW forums after all. the question is how much - you'd think that it'd take some time for the word to spread, so WoW's rallying power isn't even close to being realized right now.

I think we'll have a better idea in an hour or so. if this is blowing the hell out of every votal thus far, I'll probably call shenanigans.

It's very hard to read into vote swings in the beginning of a match. The 700 bulge is explained by the BoaRacket vote, though.
