Vote totals are being discussed, so, what about the effect of the poll
starting time? A coincidence that 2k3 and now 2k6 have the highest vote

But you have to take into consideration that Halo transcends XBox
ownership. I know lots of people who have played that game with friends

I don't think the polling time has that much of an effect: it's still
open 24 hours meaning anyone has the time to vote. But I still love the

friends despite never owning an XBox. And SSBM doesn't transcend Gamecube ownership? Come on now... Of the 16 matches in round 1, the only pick I truly worried about at
all after submitting my bracket was Warcraft. This bracket was the
first one I made that I did not go back and change anything on. I also
made it the very last day entries were accepted...cause I was out of
town for the weeks prior. So my 9-0 perfect is on the line...and I really feel if Warcraft wins, I will go 16-0 in Round 1. Now I aint a GTA hater by any means. Its a solid set of games for sure. But kiddies worship it too much. Like the Halos...it needs to be brought down by something worth a little more. That being Warcraft here. jonthomson I believe said Warcraft would either flame out or be like Starcraft was when it had its 15 min of fame and shock us all. I never said anything about SSBM, did I? That was a counter to the idea
that Halo doesn't have a large fanbase presence here because of

But I never said that Halo didn't have a large fanbase. I said there is still a large chunk of the site that doesn't care for the Xbox and anything dealing with it. I have KH winning that one. I don't regret it. Board 8 is far too cynic

Xbox popularity may have increased, but that group still remains... And Halo's still close to SSBM in spite of that. Well, that's the thing -- yeah, SSB certainly has the edge with widespread popularity as opposed to Halo. Thing is, Castlevania is the same way. You'll find a whole lot of people, even on this site, that have never played a Castlevania game (not to the same extreme as SotN or Alucard, but it's always been more niche than not). Everyone knows what Sonic is. I mean, I would certainly hope Halo/Sonic would be a foregone conclusion by now... --- Commit it to memory. |

If you had Halo losing to KH, there's still a chance that you'll end up
in a big tie for first place if that's the only thing you get wrong.

And Halo's still close to SSBM in spite of that. If anything, that's a testament to the dedication of the fanbase Halo has here. Ummmmm, all signs point to Halo being overrated. And my whole point was that there's a large portion of this site that doesn't care for the Xbox at all, so against any strong opponent from a more widespread base, Master Chief and Halo are already at a disadvantage. I have no doubts that Castlevania took advantage of that. In Sonic/SSB, Sonic does not have that advantage, as both series have fanbases that are pretty large on GameFAQs. That's the only point I was trying to bring up amidst all the "Castlevania Factor" hoopla. Apro's Half-Assed Analysis (AHAA) Hmm, a tough match. GTA:VC did pretty darn well against our beloved SSBM, though Starcraft did slightly better. But if you think Warcraft is even close to Starcraft, let me take the time to heartily laugh at you.
