I made the point that Castlevania would have benefitted from being a
launch title a few times before the brackets were locked down. I said since the beginning that the handhelds are pretty popular on this site, and also brought the series to a new fanbase. A lot of people assumed that since the handhelds were like SotN that they would share the same fanbase. The handhelds definitely brought new fans to the series. I just didn't think Halo would be this overrated, with the whole "Halo 2" thing. --- Nominate Carmen Sandiego for SC2k6 Currently playing: Fable, MGS3:S, GTA:SA, MMAC |

You know, from all the info on HM that was just provided, I think we
might be underestimating it a bit. It has a surprisingly large number
of FAQs and Reviews here, and its sales are surprisingly good. I'd be
quite surprised if it did worse against KH than Agent 47 did against
Sora. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

You just wait for Kingdom Hearts to get its turn! --- Commit it to memory. |
LeonhartForever | Posted 7/8/2006 3:11:01 PM | message detail |
I just think that people arent going to vote for FFVII or OOT. Once again, this should have been obvious before the contest began. I'm personally voting for FF because of FFVIII and FFX. Ocarina of Time would not have broken 90% of the entirety of the Civilization series. --- SC2K6 Nominations: Squall, Roxas, Serge, Seifer, Laguna, The Prince of Persia, Nightmare, Sub-Zero, Captain Falcon, Raiden |
Karma Hunter | Posted 7/8/2006 3:11:26 PM | message detail |
Meh, Kingdom Hearts is so much more than Sora. I'd be pretty nervous if KH didn't break Sora's percentage on 47. --- Commit it to memory. |

At the 18:10 mark, this match has 91367 votes. To compare with other matches at the same time: Zelda/Civilization - 89747 Pokemon/Star Ocean - 90558 Metroid/Kirby - 86847 Metal Gear/Soul Calibur - 90603 Unlike Pokemon/Star Ocean, this one doesn't seem to be slowing down. --- SC2K6 Nominations: Squall, Roxas, Serge, Seifer, Laguna, The Prince of Persia, Nightmare, Sub-Zero, Captain Falcon, Raiden |

What about Harvest Moon for Girls dammit?! It's just Harvest Moon where you play as a girl and get to marry boys. That's the only change. Castlevania : Circle of the Moon -- 480,643 Heh, IIRC, that's just around SotN's sales. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |
NewLib | Posted 7/8/2006 3:15:13 PM | message detail |
Well Leon, I thought the same way you did and if you remember I argued
about it with a few people who DID think it was going to be OOT/FFVII.
I tried to tell them that especially the SNES FF and Zelda games had a
completely different fanbase. --- Where am I? |
Karma Hunter | Posted 7/8/2006 3:15:16 PM | message detail |
Zelda/Civ got a *very* late rush, it seems. Probably from people hoping
to get Zelda over that 100,000 mark (as much of a 'lock' as many
considered it, it barely made it). --- Commit it to memory. |

To think that Castlevania side is outcheating the Halo side by almost 10,000 votes is nothing short of insane. --- Where am I? |
Master Moltar | Posted 7/8/2006 3:47:17 PM | message detail |
It's also amazing that Castlevania even won the day vote. Really, the only reason some of us wanted to see this match was because of the crazy vote swing. Yeah, I never cared about the stats for this match. You heard me. --- Moltar Status: #37 on the Leaderboard!! Castlevania vs. Halo - Bracket: Halo - Vote: Halo (6/6) |

The important question to ask is whether the majority of those who have KH reaching the last 8 are worried yet. I said before that I didn't think Castlevania had a shot at KH, but Halo did. Now? I think I'll wait and see how KH does tommorrow to see if I need to worry. CV is impressing me though, no doubt. --- Moltar Status: #37 on the Leaderboard!! Match VIII: (2) Kingdom Hearts vs. (7) Harvest Moon Games in series Kingdom Hearts (PS2, 2002) Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (GBA, 2004) Kingdom Hearts II (PS2, 2006) Harvest Moon (SNES, 1997) Harvest Moon GB (GB, 1997) Harvest Moon GBC (GBC, 1998) Harvest Moon 64 (N64, 1999) Harvest Moon 2 (GBC, 2000) Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (PS, 2000) Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland (PS2, 2001) Harvest Moon 3 (GBC, 2001) Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (GBA, 2003) Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (GC, 2004) Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town (GBA, 2005) Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life (GC, 2005) Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (GC, 2006) Analysis: Heartless have been appearing everywhere in Kingdom Hearts. Sora teams up with Goofy, Donald and others to stop the evil that is going around the island. Visit different places from Disney’s finest movies and meet various characters from the Final Fantasy series. Depending which Harvest Moon you are playing the story is a little different, but in the end you wind up with a beat-up old farm and it is your job to fix the place up and start a new life. Despite Kingdom Hearts just becoming a series a few months ago it is the clear favorite going into the match. Kingdom Hearts is mostly known throughout GameFAQs while Harvest Moon is more of a cult series. Another problem about Harvest Moon is it isn’t made for everyone so you’d either love it or hate it. Due to the lack of information about Harvest Moon contest and strength wise there really isn’t much to talk about this match and my prediction is mostly an educated blind guess. charmander6000’s Bracket: Kingdom Hearts over Harvest Moon chamander6000’s Prediction: Kingdom Hearts wins, 72.31% - 27.69% --- "I was trying to escape. I'm *finally* caught up. Jeez, what a match. I'm really disappointed
with Halo's performance. Not only did it not win, it didn't even win
the day vote. Castlevania has been steadily increasing its lead from
the opening minutes. Oh well, it's only a one point loss for me, and
I'm not yet eliminated from the guru contest. Onto tomorrow's match: don't underestimate Harvest Moon. The earlier games kicked ass (specifically, the original HM, HM64, and HM:BtN for PSX), but the recent ones have been absolute crap. Even though I like the Kingdom Hearts series better, I'm going to be voting for HM because I'm so glad to see it here and it deserves my vote. Even if KH underperforms against HM, don't be surprised when it kicks Castlevania back to the stone age. --- For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to refer to Gordon Freeman versus Tanner as Schrodinger's Match. -Phoenix Flattener |

does anybody think that Madden could have made it to the final 4 had it not had to face Mario in the first round? top selling videogames series of all time: Mario (257.3 million) Pokémon (143 million) Final Fantasy (63 million) Grand Theft Auto (50.1 million) Madden NFL (49 million) The Legend of Zelda (47 million) heck it could have beat Zelda in the finals if it got there because the Madden series just passed The Legend of Zelda series in sales damn CJay needs to learn how to make a bracket |

HaRRicH Posted 7/8/2006 6:58:55 PM message detail BOLD PREDICTION: Madden would not get more than 47% against any series in the contest. um Madden couldn't get more than 47% of nay series than neither could Zelda because the Madden series has sold more games than the Zelda series. But LoZ already got 88% on Civilization so Madden would get around that too, 88-90%, so your logic is flawed |
