I would love nothing mroe than to see 5000 votes get removed from CV, I

If you can cheat 3000 votes and not get caught, you can cheat 10000,
it's as simple as that. Now granted, I don't think Starcraft cheated
anywhere near that many, but that's due to the relatively low votals
that match had. Sure, you can write it off as an 'overperformance', but
I'm not convinced cheating wasn't involved in some of the other notable
'overperformances' we've had over the years. And if Mario/Crono I is any indication, then Ceej seems more than willing to downplay the amount of cheated votes a given match receives. And for good reason: what kind of credibility would a contest match have if Ceej said 5000 or so votes had been cheated? Heck, not nearly as many were taken away in Kefka/Vercetti and there was still a major blowup; that's about as clear-cut an example of cheating as one can get. The difference is SSBM held on, so there wasn't a reason to take away anything in the end. I'm not saying that cheat votes HAVE to be the reason by any means, but I certainly consider it a viable possibility. And Starcraft could have done plenty of other things to screw up its half-division that don't fall under the lines of 'cheating', either. I still blame it. --- Commit it to memory. |

I don't understand how anyone in their right minds can justify a CV

contradicting your own logic, and I truly think Sonic has the advantage

I actually ran the numbers on what things would have been like if there
had been 10,000 cheat votes for Starcraft in the SSBM match. Halo would still beat SotN with 69%. Did Starcraft make Halo seem stronger in the X-stats than it was? Probably by a bit, sure. But by anything that would even begin to serve as a valuable explanation to what is happening today? Not even remotely close. Personally, Castlevania as a series being much stronger than we imagined seems to be the best explanation we have available, followed closely by Halo having gone down a bit since we last saw it. Any attempt to explain this result away using SC cheat votes is horribly premature, but it also would fly directly in the face of reality. |

notice how I didn't use the word 'lock'? >_> That is just how I see the match at this point, could change after tomorrow's results Considering that everything Halo has always been stronger than everything KH, and by a safe amount, people were banking on KH2 to elevate it over Halo, now that we're seeing CV rock Halo, I don't understand how KH could make a 10% vote swing to make CV win with 55, to lose with 45. Um, I wouldn't expect the SotN in the SpC2k4 X-Stats to beat Halo if
Starcraft had received 20,000 cheat votes. However, since it's
blatantly obvious that MGS and Goldeneye suffered respective SFF from
FFVII and OoT, SotN is vastly underrated. Adjusting for that SFF is

Regulars on the Halo boards keeps answering "Why is Halo losing"?
questions with "Castlevania is the better, more important series". It

Chief)...and five losses. The wins will be against Felix, Crash

You know...if people are actually voting on if things are an actual
series, I'd actually want to see Chrono in this thing. Because I still

I think this is more people underestimating Castlevania than it is Halo
"not being a series". if Halo is overrated, it's because we
overestimated its power thanks to Starcraft and that List and not "Halo
only has two games, Castlevania is a classic". I really doubt that
would come into play if you think Castlevania is somehow an unknown
