Cloud tripled up Fox! Fox obviously has no place in this contest! Snake beating Squall's ass? That was obviously SFF! Plus there was no KH! There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 2k2 stats! I can't tell if you're mocking me or not. I FEEL SO ASHAMED. --- Explicit Content Cheer Up Emo Kids. |

Where the hell did I state "Metroid Prime 3 -- guaranteed to be
worse than Metroid Fusion"? Because, you know, I'm pulling a blank
here. And we do know that Metroid Fusion sold a million copies, right? Well, you did say a million copies for MP3, and that's a little worse than MF. I still think you're vastly underestimating the power MP3 will have. It'll probably be the game Nintendo chooses to showcase the Wiimote at all the Wii demo booths (you know they're coming), since it's the game that most reflects what the Wiimote can do. TP will also probably have some of its sales siphoned away by the GCN version, lessening MP3's competition even further. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

TP will also probably have some of its sales siphoned away by the GCN version, lessening MP3's competition even further. Nintendo does not want people knowing the GCN version even exists. Soul Calibur gave Kingdom Hearts a close match and that's nothing
to sneeze at. Kingdom Hearts IS A POPULAR GAME on this web site. Aside from this board's hardon and the Top 10 FAQ, we really don't know this. The Top 100 Games List and Sora and Riku's performances are proof that Kingdom Hearts is popular. Oh, and I don't think Kingdom Hearts was a major part of Cloud's increase either, but I do think Kingdom Hearts did help bring *some* Square fans to GameFAQS. --- "Dropo! The Top 100 Games List and Sora and Riku's performances are proof that Kingdom Hearts is popular. Riku is decent, Sora is an anomaly that goes from whipping Alucard to getting SFF'd by every character under the sun. If any character were to EVER be susceptible to enough rSFF to lose a match, it would be him. And of course, characters =/= games. Is Kefka proof that FFVI is unpopular??? Not that Kingdom Hearts didn't have fans, even back then. But it has never been on the level of a Metal Gear. Even with KH2, it still isn't. |
ApplesauceSign | Posted 7/6/2006 12:33:14 PM | message detail |
The Top 100 Games List and Sora and Riku's performances are proof that Kingdom Hearts is popular. Everyone and their mother knows I hate the top 100 list, and considering that ToS was one of 2 write-in games, I'm going to go ahead and guess that it was mostly this board submitting the lists, and I don't think anyone would argue that ToS has strength on GameFAQs, as a result KH gets an inflated score because everyone here would probably choose to have sex with it over the hottest woman in the world (many suspect it to be HM's mom, but it's not yet been confirmed), and I wouldn't go so far as to say Sora and Riku's performances are proof of it's popularity. Sure it's not garbage, but I don't think anyone is trying to say that, it's also not a groundbreaking game. Actually Riku's really never done anything impressive... at all. Sora had one good year in 2K4 losing to Samus (who many suspect to be overrated for whatever reason dropping 4% in the stats from 2K4 to 2K5 with an adjustment), add that to the fact Sora also went down a lot in 2K5 (yes we have the entire Snake/Sora debacle), and I don't know how impressive you could really say Sora has been. --- Explicit Content Cheer Up Emo Kids. |
Slowflake | Posted 7/6/2006 12:34:20 PM | message detail |
If any character were to EVER be susceptible to enough rSFF to lose a match, it would be him. Fun fact: after Sora's clobbering of Hayabusa, X-stat projections showed Sora was slightly stronger than Aeris. The same Aeris that doubled him the year before. Of course, Sora turned out to be a bit weaker, but that's still fun to think about. --- I do declare, old chap! Even a Doom score could not possibly justify the unwarranted combustion of kittens! |
ApplesauceSign | Posted 7/6/2006 12:34:46 PM | message detail |

Karma Hunter | Posted 7/6/2006 12:35:00 PM | message detail |
By the way, I'm thinking that an FFVII character that would otherwise be less popular than Sora could beat him in a match. Someone like...Red XIII, or if you think that's still too popular, then Cid or Barret. |
Karma Hunter | Posted 7/6/2006 12:35:56 PM | message detail |
Amazingly though, Kefka is the strongest character from FFVI, which is why I used him. I still can't fathom how he's so damn weak... |

What?! When did I ever try to say Kingdom Hearts was as popular as
Metal Gear? All I tried saying was that it's reasonably popular. The thing is, Kingdom Hearts' stat placement in SpC2k4 falls into the realm of 'unreasonable'. As for FF6A...lol kefka |

And while we're talking about nonsensically weak characters, take a look at this: http://sclegacy.com/lordofascension/images/zergpollresults1.jpg Eww. Bah, I never commented on MGS v. Wind Waker...I think Wind Waker is a lot less popular and favored than it was in 2k4 (don't expect it to get a higher seed than MGS3 today) and it may be MG v. Zelda, but it's the most adored MG game versus the Zelda game with the most baggage. Plus, lol Starcraft. MGS with 52%. |

I don't even recognize half of those names. Hell, I don't recognize anyone except the Overmind!!! With exception to Zasz, Overlord and Kerrian those are just the names of the special version of the unit. Hunter Killer is the name of the Hero Hydralisk. They play no role in Melee and most of them are simply there in the story missions. Zasz is the name of one of the Cerebrete you meet in the Zerg compaign of Starcraft, and he's not there for long. --- "Those whose memories fade seek to carve them in their hearts..." Ulti’s Analysis I have little experience with the Silent Hill series, so sorry in advance for this one being a bit one-sided on my end. Just as I foresaw in my Magic 8 Ball weeks ago...the Halo bandwagoning
here is at record levels...so it will be all the more satisfying to see
Halo fall in 2 short days. Halo is unproven, and it is not as big this year as it was last time it had to prove itself here. If Halo 3 was out now, things MIGHT be different. Seeing Halo fall will be onbe of the sweetest things I have seen here since Froggy took out the Chief, since Pong defeated River City Ransom, and seeing Mortal Kombat score 30% on FFVI when no one thought it would go over 20%... FF6A will only help peeps like me, who love FFVI...the greatest FF of
them all...the game of my screen name namesake. It will not help Kefka,
Strago, the Jidoor Auction House Guy, Ultros, or anyone else. The fanbabies hearts are set against Kefka...they aint gonna change. Why blame SFF? Fire Emblem won't to better (and definatly not SH or Castlevania because THAT would be SFF) and I personally don't think KH or HALO would do get above 40% against Metal Gear. IMO Soul Calibur is doing pretty good. --- 1f u c4n r34d th1s u r34lly n33d t0 g37 l41d |

Everybody is underrating FE in 2k4. If there was SFF between MGS and
FFVII just because they're on the same platform, there'd certainly be
SFF between FE and FFTA when they're on the same platform and of the
same genre. --- "Patriotism is clearly the greatest danger to which civilization is at present exposed" --Bertrand Russell |

No comments on the pics? I say that even though FE gets no Marth and
Roy, the picture still stands out. I don't think Pyramid Head really
defines Silent Hill. Ceej just was lazy due to Pyramid Head already
being in the contest. Otherwise, I definitely don't see him being the
center. The Castlevania pic is fantastic! Soma > Alucard, yo! --- Nominate Carmen Sandiego for SC2k6 Currently playing: Fable, MGS3:S, GTA:SA, MMAC |
