Your bracket is bad and you should feel bad! ...nah, it's good, but I have so little respect for so many series (Metroid, Soul Calibur, Kingdom Hearts, etc.) that placing them in the same fourpack just makes me struggle on how worthless I think they are. |

MMX disappointing me now. It's stuck around 72.5%. And I'd pick Metal Gear, though I am very interested to see how a MG/GTA match would go. GTA might be stronger indirectly (we'll know for sure after the Contest), but in a head to head match, I think Metal Gear would take it. It's also nice to see that HM has some valid reasoning up his sleeve
for a Star Ocean win...at least, I don't think Pokemon will get a 60%+

HM's argument is quite good, but I find it funny that 45% of the site
being interested in Pokemon Emerald is translated to Pokemon "hate,"
especially when one considers that Ruby/Sapphire are probably

is Suikoden fodder? yeah, but not low low fodder. not Shadow Hearts
fodder. s2 has a fanbase that will not abandon it for anything. 5 was
received pretty well, at least from what I've seen. I don't think this
is really underperforming at all. my Oracle prediction was like 70.5%.

Star Ocean's case, though. Oh, sure, the competition was stiff. But
even in the one poll with fairly weak competition Star Ocean still only

i like tranny's bracket. i think that would have been more interesting
than our current bracket. and i for one would also take Mario Kart over
Sonic in that bracket. wait and see. MMX's failure to impress today is
only the beginning. both Sonic and Megaman's series are not going to
stack up to the the strength of their characters. TAKE THAT!! and for the record, i also see no reason why Star Ocean would be any more popular on this site than Suikoden. the ONLY reason i've seen tossed around is that SO has sold about 400,000 more copies as a series. and i don't think that's enough to make a huge difference. recent sales might have a minor impact on a series' popularity - but with Suikoden V's release in March, i'd wager that Suikoden has actually sold more copies in the past six months than SO. on the other hand, i seriously doubt Pokemon is anywhere near MMX's strength, but i could still see it barely doubling SO - depending on the match pic, of course. --- "In America, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women...." - Homer Simpson |

There's very little difference between the two in the eyes of the voting audience. A bold statement. And one I don't believe for a second. Maybe if people were voting exclusive because of the Pokemon cartoon... but hell, even then. Pikachu is not Pokemon. Pokemon RBY would likely do much better than Pikachu or even GSC. Yeah, I'm really not convinced that SO is any more popular than
Suikoden on GameFAQs. If it is, why haven't we seen any representation
from it yet? Why did it fail to get on the drop-down list for the Top
100? I mean, if the likes of the original F-Zero could get on that list
(while Suikoden II got #59 or so), then what does that say about Star

The fact that there's no hardcore centralized fandon for SO doesn't mean that it's weak among general voting. It's just one of those games were people like it... they just don't like it the most. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Something I have always disagreed with ... at least as far doing much better than GSC is concerned. And why not? Didn't RBY sell something like twice as many games? Didn't Red beat Gold by something like 30 spaces on the top 100 list? (Not trying to exaggerate the list but it's not something to just ignore either) Also, I think RB would represent a "more innocent time" to some fans of the series. Before Pokemon was overexposed, basically. RBY would probably beat all, and that's a little sad, considering every single game from the main series is vastly superior. I mean, seriously. What praise does FRLG ever get? It's RBY, plus two generations' worth of balance fixes and new strategies, and a few extra Pokémon on the side. You don't see anyone worshipping the first Metroid with Zero Mission around.
