Today's pic was better, but this isn't bad. CJayC should have included
Luca Blight, since he's the most recognizable Suikoden character. MMX

I really don't think it'll have any affect at all. I was talking more about fans not thinking classic Mega Man represents the entire series more than the actual pic. I was just stating that seeing how Ceej is showing Mega Man X and Zero to clearly represent the X series, I'm betting he does the same with Classic Mega Man. Maybe adding Wily or Protoman. Oh, and do you guys think higher vote totals would favor Pokemon or Star Ocean? Pokemon, especially if the higher votals are due to advertising of the site elsewhere. Neither. Well maybe Pokemon, but I doubt it. While more
votes would bring more Pokemon fans, it would also bring more people

I was thinking something similiar mnm, that they would possibly bring in more Pokemon votes, but also its share of antivotes. Since it's the whole series this time, and as long as we don't see Pikachu's mug on that pic, I'm hoping the votes for it outweighs the votes against. Hard for me to see Star Ocean benefitting much at all unless it's anti-votes. BTW - If anyone wants to change any of their Crew picks, do it via AIM, seeing as how I don't remember to check my e-mail everyday. --- Moltar Status: Excited, the Contest is here at last! Not the best example, but when it was only registered memebrs that
could vote Pokemon did better than when both members and non-members

How many votes are we on track to get? 105k? Might be a little lower, might be a little higher. The different time period for the poll is screwing with my mind a bit (and messing up comparisons with similar sized polls). I compared Sonic/Tifa (c. 105k in that) and we're about 5000 votes ahead of that if we look at the direct same times, but we obv got 10k more votes in the 9pm-12am EST timespan (as it's the start of the poll, not the end). I think higher vote totals will help Silent Hill, which is much more recognizable a name than Fire Emblem. Probably will have an effect on a couple more matches as well. --- sig |

FE/SH won't break 90,000 votes. I think it'll break 90k, but likely not 100k. But it'll still get a lot more votes than it would've otherwise (10-20k min, I'd guess), and considering Silent Hill's recognizability compared to Fire Emblem's, it'd still be enough to skew the results in SH's favor. --- sig |

It's main strength is in the handheld games, and handheld games do
horribly in the contests. I don't think PoR is strong enough to counter
the fact that SH is much more recognizable to the average gamer. I don't even think FE's that popular in the Nintendo fanboy crowd. I definitely wouldn't put it above Pokemon or even Earthbound. I just don't see FE having the popularity people expect it to have. I doubt half the casual voters would even know what Fire Emblem is. --- sig |

I don't even think FE's that popular in the Nintendo fanboy crowd. I
definitely wouldn't put it above Pokemon or even Earthbound. They still would vote it over Silent Hill, due to Roy and Marth's presence in SSBM alone. Just as its more likely for a mainly PS2 gamer to vote for Silent Hill. This will be a match of what fanbases bother to care more.
