I used a Final Fantasy VII vs. Half-Life comparison as a start to
determine how Diablo will do. I figure that Half-Life and Diablo are
probaby close in popularity. I just took it from there. --- Nominate Carmen Sandiego for SC2k6 Currently playing: Fable, MGS3:S, GTA:SA, MMAC |

Why would Starcraft be stronger than Diablo 2? D2's a far more GameFAQs
friendly game than Starcraft, and it's also newer. It's population is a
lot more concentrated in America than Starcraft's as well. I don't see
why RPGFAQs would choose SC over Diablo 2...adding Diablo 1 in only
makes the difference larger. I can see FF winning with somewhere
between 65-69% there, and I'd bet on it being closer to 65. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

Well, I say that partially because I have a hard time seeing Diablo II
being a member of the Super Seven, and partially because of (*ducks for

I don't know about the "only" one. If I recall, the last perfect went down on Zero/Sonic. i meant in the still young "Stats and Discussion Topic". and actually, the last TWO perfects both went down on Zero vs. Sonic. as far as nervous matches, i'm the most nervous about Street Fighter vs. Elder Scrolls. so far, the only reason i've seen from anyone supporting Street Fighter is that Street Fighter is a more recognizable name than Elder Scrolls. and that's the kind of reasoning that cost some of us matches like Wario vs. Shadow. it doesn't feel right to pick against SF, but Oblivion is currently the second most popular game (at least out of this year's games, for sure) on the site and has been since it came out. but, on the other hand, the name "Elder Scrolls" doesn't seem to be used that much in connection to Oblivion and the series pretty much relies on Oblivion...........bah. this match has me quite nervous. --- "In America, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women...." - Homer Simpson |
TheKeyofDestiny | Posted 6/30/2006 8:51:03 PM | message detail |
I don't know if I've ever been completely certain about
Street Fighter, but I refuse to second-guess myself because I usually
end up getting it wrong then. If anything, this is a matter of "Who can
you see winning this match more easily?" In my mind, that's Street Fighter. --- "You make a good other." |

So...will this upcoming poll be the first to start at midnight EST, or
will it begin with the contest? From what it sounded like on the Daily
Grind, Ceej wanted to get it started as soon as possible. --- SC2K6 Nominations: Squall, Roxas, Serge, Seifer, Laguna, The Prince of Persia, Nightmare, Sub-Zero, Captain Falcon, Raiden |

Apro's Half-Assed Analysis (AHAA) It's ****ing Zelda. No contest. The only question is how badly is Civilization going to lose. From what I've heard from my friends, it's a pretty darn good series. Only problem is it's a PC series. It won't be a super-blowout à la Adventure, but Civ will perform better than expected. Look for Zelda to win with 82-85%. --- For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to refer to Gordon Freeman versus Tanner as Schrodinger's Match. -Phoenix Flattener |

Though born in California, Hayter's parents were Canadian. He did some
live acting in the early 1990s, but became interested in voice acting
after appearing in an episode of the sitcom Major Dad as a character
with a Russian accent. This led to his role as the voice of Captain
America in the popular 1994 Spider-Man animated series. Hayter is known to be a huge fan of the Black Widow comic books. It is said that he named his daughter Natasha after "Black Widow's" main character with the same name. For some voiceover projects, Hayter used the alias Sean Barker, the name of the character he played in the 1994 movie Guyver: Dark Hero. He also used this alias for his anime dub work in YuYu Hakusho when he voiced Kurama. --- "A huge void in her heart. According to GameFAQs user Chris Ho's audio interview with Paul Eiding,
David Hayter gave up half of his own paycheck in order to bring back
the cast of Metal Gear Solid for The Twin Snakes. This may be the
reason why the voice acting in The Twin Snakes was completely redone
with the same actors. An interview with David Hayter by Game Informer in 2001 showed that Hayter wished for the then-unconfirmed Metal Gear Solid movie to be animated or made in 3D. He also wished to be the screenwriter under the possible supervision of Hideo Kojima. --- "A huge void in her heart. BUY OR SELL: Metal Gear (Solid) not making the Final Four. I will sell this, but it is a hard decision. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if KH or Halo end up beating Metal Gear, but I think that in the end Metal Gear will get its spot in the final four. BUY OR SELL: Zelda being a real threat to Final Fantasy in the finals. Sell, as much as I don't want this to be true. I think that this match will be like FF7 vs. OoT; Zelda will definitely be respectable but will never be a major threat to beat FF. BUY OR SELL: Mario being a real threat to Final Fantasy. Again, I sell. I think that Mario may surprise people in this match and do better than expected. That said, it will still be weaker than Zelda which also won't be a huge threat to FF. BUY OR SELL: Madden suffering the biggest blowout. I'll buy this one. I think that the biggest blowout honor is between Civ and Madden. Although Zelda is better at blowing things out in polls, I think that Civ is more popular than Madden and so Madden gets reamed the hardest. I think that KH vs. Harvest Moon could be a sleeper blowout depending on how much SFF occurs. BUY OR SELL: No series breaking 90% in a poll. Tough, but I will buy this. There will definitely be blowouts in this tournament, but each series in the contest should have some fans that will vote for it, and the popular series will have some anti-votes. These factors should keep the matches away from 90-10 blowout territory. I really wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong here though. BUY OR SELL: No match being decided by less than 2000 votes. I know that I probably should buy this, but my own hopes are making me sell. There should be some close matches in the tournament (MK vs. MM, the Halo-KH-MG series, among others) and I would think that at least one of them will be close enough to be within 2000 votes. --- Visit www.geocities.com/independentgamers |
