http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2410 Granted it's not as big of a number as those using IE, not even close really, but the poll position is ****ed up on AOL too. And no, I don't use AOL. --- Explicit Content Cheer Up Emo Kids |

I would like to report an error or problem on GameFAQs. Message From TeamRocketElite at 2006-06-18 23:38:10 The Best. Series. Ever. banner causes a display error in Internet Explorer because it's too wide. The PotD and everything else on the right side is pushed down near the bottom of the page. This has had a serious effect on the vote totals in the PotD and would affect the upcoming contest. If the banner was reduced to 420 or less pixels wide, the problem would disappear. Message From GameFAQs at 2006-06-19 17:24:57 Fixed Feedback Status: Complete - The issue you reported has either been resolved or cannot be resolved based on the information you provided. =D --- "Those whose memories fade seek to carve them in their hearts..." Message From Applause_Sign at 2006-06-19 15:47:41 The current banner for the series contest on the homepage appears to be a few pixels too wide in both Internet Explorer and AOL causing the poll of the day to jump all the way to the bottom of the page. With the contest coming up, it would be great to see to poll of the day return to its normal place. I'm starting to think that whole Sonic/SSB and MM/MK may not exactly go as parallel as we think. --- "People who play RPGs are depressed gamers who like to sit alone in their dark rooms and play slow games" - Hiroshi Yamauchi * Is Dranze * |
Karma Hunter | Posted 6/19/2006 11:58:05 AM | message detail |
It likely won't. I'd take SSB to beat MK with ease, and I'd have a tough time choosing between Sonic and Mega's games. Even if MM beats MK -- comfortably, even -- that won't make me feel any less confident in SSB > Sonic. |

It doesn't say would you buy a PS3, it says would you buy a FF7
remake. I answered yes, but it still wouldn't be enough to make my buy
a PS3. That's pretty much the point. People want to look at polls with Nintendo and Sony in them and determine that Nintendo is obviously dominating the site. I have always said that how well the PS3 or Sony does in these polls doesn't relate to Square in any way, and I think this poll does a good job of reinforcing that. I mean, 43.93% of this site would buy/consider buying a PS3 whereas 73.69% of this site would buy a PS3 remake of FFVII. --- "If you're asking for a date, forget it. HEY TRE, I TOTALLY SENT MY FEEDBACK TICKET IN A FEW HOURS BEFORE YOU!!! Message From JDMS at 2006-06-18 19:25:43 The banner on the front page promoting the Best Series Ever contest causes the whole right side of the page to get pushed all the way down to the bottom of the page in Internet Explorer. I think decreasing the width of the banner would make the poll go back to where it belongs, and the error is only in Internet Explorer (as far as I know... it's not happening in Firefox anyway.) for anyone wondering if people care about KH: CofM, here are it's NPD sales numbers from last month (May 2006): NDS - Metroid Prime: Hunters - 30,957 GBA - Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories - 30,416 NDS - Tetris DS - 21,099 not bad numbers for a nearly 2-year old portable RPG that's not named Pokemon. it's also kinda funny that it's selling as well or better than 2 of the DS's better new games. --- "In America, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women...." - Homer Simpson |

and for comparison's sake, here's the Top 20 in sales from last month: Rank - Title - Publisher - Units sold (if available) 1. NDS - New Super Mario Bros. - Nintendo - 275,692 2. PS2 - Kingdom Hearts II - Square Enix - 168,944 3. NDS - Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes A Day - Nintendo - 109,432 4. PS2 - God of War - Sony - 106,707 5. 360 - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter - Ubisoft - 84,431 6. 360 - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Take 2 Interactive - 83,507 7. PS2 - MLB 06: The Show - Sony - 81,895 8. PS2 - Guitar Hero Bundle - Activision - 67,871 9. PS2 - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Take 2 Interactive - 64,520 10. PS2 - Kingdom Hearts - Square Enix - 60,236 11. PS2 - X-Men: The Official Game - Activision ~ 59,000 12. PS2 - Over the Hedge - Activision ~ 58,000 13. 360 - Fight Night Round 3 - Electronic Arts 14. PS2 - 2006 FIFA World Cup - Electronic Arts ~ 54,000 15. PS2 - The Godfather - Electronic Arts ~ 53,000 16. PS2 - Gran Turismo 4 - Sony 17. 360 - Battlefield 2: Modern Combat - Electronic Arts ~ 51,000 18. PS2 - Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix - Rockstar 19. PS2 - Major League Baseball 2K6 - Take 2 Interactive 20. 360 - Major League Baseball 2K6 - Take 2 Interactive ~ 48,000 NDS - Metroid Prime: Hunters - 30,957 GBA - Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories - 30,416 NDS - Tetris DS - 21,099 note that the first Kingdom Hearts was actually propelled up to #10 last month and the 3 game series of KH (combined together) outsold even the #1 game (New SMB) of the month. if that doesn't prove that KH2 has significantly boosted the popularity of the series, i don't know what will. oh, and i bolded Guitar Hero, because it's freaking awesome. --- "In America, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women...." - Homer Simpson |

Buy it? I'd invest in Square Enix to make it happen! 28.64% 20544 Yes, I'd love to see it on a modern system 24.06% 17256 Probably, if it was re-done well 22.24% 15953 Probably not, I wasn't a big fan FF7 11.7% 8394 No, I can't stand it 13.35% 9577 TOTAL VOTES 71724 And the "invest" option continues to rise. Also the vote totals are very nice. 71,000 with almost 6 hours to go. If the poll had been in the normal location for IE the whole day, we might have broken 95,000 today. Even with it at the bottom for half the day, it still looks like we'll get pretty close to 90,000. --- 1123581321345589 |
