So anyway, I'm still worried about SF. It could lose to ES or it could
even beat RE. Here's the thing, in that one poll, RE was the 2nd most
popular Capcon franchise, with Mega Man being first. But what if MM
wasn't an option? Where would those votes go to? But then
again...RE4...but then again, SF put up a good fight with Mario RPG and
that game is no slouch. It's Nintendo and Square. I was quite
impressed. And then we have FE and SH. I must admit, FE's match with FFTA was dissapointing. And honestly, I don't see that the series has expanded that much more. If it wasn't for SSBM, the series wouldn't be anything. I don't have any reason to believe that FE has gotten any more powerful. I am not certain of SH's strength but it has a pretty large fanbase...the Sony fanbase. I really don't know though...it could go either way I think. Halo and Kingdom Hearts...I see KH taking it just because...I see it this way. Halo and KH are about equal in strength. Halo 2 was seen as a dissapointment so I don't believe it broght in many new fans, while KH2 could have possibley done so. Of course, I have nothing to back this up with. So anyway, the other topic doesn't even have 400 posts yet don't start discussion in here. That's what I don't understand...Why make this one then? I really don't understand it. WHY? I find it to be a bit arrogant. Why exactly does a new topic have to be made so early in advance? For all we know, the world could just explode. Really, I want an answer. I mean...the topic title is "Contest Stats and Discussion" but no discussion is allowed until the old topic is filled? I have SMB winning it all. I realize it's a stretch... but I
(obviously) don't think it's the impossibility most people seem to have
pegged it as. The individual Mario games in the contest all lost to
either Chrono Trigger or a OOT, if I recall, and I've always felt that
SMB as a series carried a lot of weight. I definitely think SMB can
take out FF (also extrememly possible that I'm wrong), and Legend of
Zelda is not at all out of reach. And if I'm right, I believe I have a very good chance of winning a prize <_< --- Support Captain Falcon! |

But would you really expect more than half of those extra votes to go
to Mario? If it did, it wouldn't be enough to overcome what advantage

OOT-SM64 is all you need to know, really. Zelda/SMB would be an easy

Castlevania over KH? That'd be...interesting. I can see Halo, but Castlevania? I'm convinced that the winner of CV vs Halo will win. If Halo wins, I just think that Halo has the whole "represent a system" thing behind it, not to mention already being (seemingly) stronger than KH when they were one game apiece in 2K4. Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island got killed, yet LttP did well. I'm really surprised by Sonic Advance's performance. I thought the Advance games were somewhat popular. It looks like the GBA Castlevania games are more popular than the Sonic Advance games by far on this site. And Metroid kills them all! Oh, series versus series -- I missed that part! Damn, I'd have to
reconsider LoZ > SMB (if the match actually happened), because I
thought for sure that the top two LoZ games could beat any SMB game,
and I'm pretty sure the latest big Mario console game was a bust

I have Castlevania winning its four pack. And, yes, I was there for Sora/Alucard. If anything, Sora/Alucard helps the argument of Castlevania winning.
