Pokemon + Pikachu Top 10 Okay, hypothetically speaking if CJayC were to show us the match pictures before the contest started, and Pokemon was represented by a big yellow Pikachu with the word "Pokemon!" in the back, would you still feel confident in taking Pokemon over Star Ocean? Moving on, why do people feel so content with justifying KHII > Halo because KHII is number 1 on the top 10 FAQ pages, yet Oblivion is at number 2 and number 6 on two different systems. I'm willing to bet if you combined the two it would be higher than KHII, even if you don't believe that though, how can you totally disregard that and go with SF > Elder Scrolls? I'm sure none of you would take Street Fighter > Halo. Anyway, that's for the people who use the top 10 to argue for KH > Halo, and completely disregard Elder Scrolls, if you're not one of them, don't respond! --- Explicit Content Cheer Up Emo Kids |

Oh.. I was supposed to delete Pokemon + Pikachu and Top 10 from that

Okay, hypothetically speaking if CJayC were to show us the match
pictures before the contest started, and Pokemon was represented by a

still feel confident in taking Pokemon over Star Ocean? I'd feel less confident, but I'd still have Pokemon winning. The picture would hurt, but it only comes close to making up the margin that SO needs to beat Pokemon IMO. --- Moltar Status: Eagerly awaiting for the next Contest to begin. |

I thought G bolded it, could be just me though. I remember thinking it was just the (cheap plug) part. Meh, anyway. I'm not really relying on the top 10, as it's a completely different method of voting (Cloud is one of B8's favourite characters, yet never comes close to winning a B8 tourney, IIRC. The Gfaqs one works in the same principle). It works for really obvious things, like FFVII, OoT and, in Boar B8's case, Magus. The whole thing about Samus/Metroid not having SFF power is...well, it's like she should.
And the fact that she took SUCH a hard beating from Mario despite
nearly being his equal in strength (or his superior, depending on who
you ask) is baffling. Look how well Yoshi does against Mario + every
Nintendo character ever, despite being so much weaker and actually part
of the Mario series. It scares me. Would you expect Samus to beat down
Yoshi as ferociously as Mega Man did? Hell, that's one of the reasons
I'm so damn tempted to take him in an upset -- could Mega Man SFF Samus? --- *is Karma Hunter* |

I don't like how Metroid's run is a bit too predictable. It's
inevitalbe that a great series like Metroid will fall to Mario in the
3rd round. Now if it faced of against Kingdom Hearts or Metal Gear,
we'd have ourselves a barnburner. Also does anyone else think that Pokemon/Star Ocean match could be close to what the Master Chief/Frog match was? Not by how close, but by how the votes swayed throughout the day making the match hard to pull a conclusion on. --- I am not changing this sig until the Devil Rays get into 3rd place in the division with at least 20 games played. (Started 9/16/04) |

Possibly... I see Castlevania/MC to be more like that though, except

A few more casuals responded to my e-mail. The first one was here:

Three out of four picked Warcraft > GTA Everyone picked Street Fighter > ES Two picked Castlevania > Halo. Two picked Sonic > Smash Two picked Silent Hill > Fire Emblem One picked Star Ocean > Pokemon. Only of note because I know he's never played a Star Ocean game. Everyone has the one seeds in the final four, except one person who put KH there. Not that any of this means anything. I just thought it was interesting. I hope more people respond, but I have a feeling a majority are going to ignore my e-mail. Based on its Dreamcast sales alone, it pulled a strong third place in the favorite Sonic poll. The GC is a far more popular console here than the DC ever was, and its GC sales are far better than its DC sales. StH2 is a small fraction of the Sonic series's overall strength, and SA2 alone is undoubtedly enough to push up the series by an absolutely enormous amount...I'd say that SA2 would place somewhere between Wind Waker and Metroid Prime in the stats, which likely puts it ahead of SMW. As I've said before, Sonic vs. SSB is easily the toughest match in the bracket, and there's definitely strong justifications to take Sonic for the win. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

I don't think anyone would argue nowadays that Halo would've beaten
KH... which means, we must think pretty damn highly of KH2 in order to
compensate for a game that set all kinds of sales records and then some. --- Wake up with the, wake up with the King. |
