I think people were already getting crazy by thinking Agent 47 would be Neo-Tanner. There was a rather large difference between the two. Though it's notable that was before Kingdom Hearts II was out, which is considerably different from Kingdom Hearts in a number of ways -- "kiddie" included. exactly. not only that, but Agent 47 looked WAY cooler than Tanner. as a matter of fact, the new Hitman game is selling very well.. but since then, Sora has gotten another new game to revise his freshness and less-kiddie image. plus, even if Harvest Moon isn't a traditional RPG, half of the games in the series are classified as RPGs on GameFAQS (the other half as strategy) and it is a series that is found on RPGamer - a site that is exclusively for different types of RPGs. even if it's not as traditional as KH - Harvest Moon has a lot more in common with KH and much more of an overlapping fanbase than Civilization does with Zelda or Madden does with Mario. --- "In America, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women...." - Homer Simpson |

You know, I acknowledge the fact that Mega Man has built a strong
franchise and overall name over the years, which is why I think he is
such a popular character. But I really don't think his games are all that popular. I certainly think Mario Kart matches it in popularity, and the series has killed the Mega Man series as far as sales for its individual games. In recent years, Mega Man really hasn't done anything really significant. Sure you have the Zero series, which was taken well. You have the EXE series, which sold a bit. But they don't compare to sales of the last 3 Mario Kart games. Sure, Mario Kart may be a side series, but it's a side series that has every game selling at least 4 million, with the most popular approaching 10 million. plus, even if Harvest Moon isn't a traditional RPG, half of the

traditional as KH - Harvest Moon has a lot more in common with KH and
much more of an overlapping fanbase than Civilization does with Zelda
or Madden does with Mario. Actually I'd say it as more in common with sim games if anythuing. I think the largest blow out will be X > Suikoden, especially since

I think the largest blow out will be X > Suikoden, especially

Chrono definitely had the noms. I think Ceej purposely kept it out,
which I think is whack as he specifically had FF/FFT as separate
series. And even if it is
basically Chrono Trigger, we would have at least seen how a single
popular game vs. series fared. That was one of the most debated things

I'd normally believe this, but since the nominations were kept almost exclusively to Board 8 (although they were linked on a few other boards) I doubt this is the case. Strangely enough, I realized this when I was looking how far Mario and
Chrono were from each other. This is our first contest ever without a

Dammit...the comparisons between MM, Sonic, MK, and SSB have forced me
to switch to having Sonic over SSB. And I was so hoping that I wouldn't

Why do people put Mario Kart as a side series hurting it. Side
series or not, it has shown to be just as popular as the Mega Man
series. I don't see people writing off Super Smash Bros. as a side
series. I think it's pretty irrelevant unless it was going up directly
against Super Mario Bros. or something. doesn't hurt it at all - I just don't think it's going to SFF Mega Man. I'm just saying not to treat Mario Kart as if it's got the same SFF ability as regular ol' Mario. --- xyzzy |

He easily dominates Solid Snake year after year. Mega Man was easily above Snake in 2004. That's about it. Every other year, he wasn't THAT far ahead, really. And thanks to whoever mentioned the Analysis Crew! Heh, it's been so long I had forgotten I was on it. And Parasite Eve had a Xenogears demo? Really? I've owned the game for years and I didn't know that. Namesake alone. The words "Final Fantasy", when inclusive of ALL Final Fantasy is near unstoppable to LoZ. Funny, how everyone complains that Cloud should win the character contest over Link, because he has more personality, but Link wins versus how more of the board wanted OoT (I think) but FF7 won. Anyhoo, I think this contest is people voting for their fav of the series. I mean, you're not gonna sit down and count all the FFs and say "Ok, 1, 4, 6, 7, and 10 rock. 2, 5, and 9 suck. 8 is meh. FFX2 is bad. FFT is sorta in, hmm. I'll consider it. Oh crap, what about the Game Boy FF's. They...." etc. You're gonna take your fav one or two FFs (or maybe you'll be more systematic if you are meh to FF, but not really). You won't do the same for LoZ or SMB or ESPECIALLY not Mega Man, since we've all been down that road of "what Mega Man games should be in the contest?" and back. Now, besides OoT, Zelda MAY have LttP. But FF7 ALONE could beat the combination of every single game ever, so why does it matter? I got FF after getting that nice red FF strategy guide from Nintendo power with the traditional Fighter/Black Belt/White Mage/Black Mage party with weird names like BORS, JED, LEE, and TOTH! But it definitely didn't make me loyal to the company. Company loyalty didn't exist on the NES for me, and for much of the SNES as well. The PS era was when I really started to buy anything Square. FF1 is just about my favourite game, so I was hooked then. but yeah, I
wasn't a company loyalist until the PS era. back then I was just a FF

I agree. I nommed both, too. I'm absolutely convinced that Chrono was

Hmmm...I'm only three matches in on Analysis Crew write-ups, but I've
already realized that this contest, at least in this area, is WIDE
OPEN. With no statistics to refer to whatsoever, percentages are pretty
