No. Castlevania is just as big a name in gaming as Diablo, if not
bigger. Think of how many games and generations it covers. You have
SoTN, the old school games, the handheld games, the PS2 games... It may
not be a HUGE series, but Castlevania is definitely no slouch. I'd

I remember a time when the bracket was put up a few hours after
nominations closed. I forget which contest that might have been. At any
rate, I can't imagine him taking much longer to get the bracket up
after this long nomination period and the fact that it's likely only 32

yeah, the Villain Contest went pretty quick - maybe two days? I don't
remember; either way, it seems to depend. if you asked me "how long are

I hesistated a little on Halo/Castlevania, but I went with Halo.
There's not a single Castlevania game that could really approach Halo,

Hyrule Division Legend of Zelda Civilization Suikoden Mega Man X Pokemon Star Ocean Metroid Kirby Waste of a division. The only semi decent match is Metroid Kirby and that's only because Kirby is a popular character. No way the Kirby games are as popular as the Metroid games though. Everything else is cookie cutter. We needed to see Mega Man X vs. Metroid. Snake Division Metal Gear Soul Calibur Silent Hill Fire Emblem Castlevania Halo Kingdom Hearts Harvest Moon Decent I guess. Halo/Kingdom Hearts winner vs. Metal Gear for the division. I think Metal Gear is a bit too strong for them though. For all the good matchups we thought of for Metal Gear, we don't get to see many of them. Mushroom Division Super Mario Bros. Madden NFL Grand Theft Auto Warcraft Sonic Devil May Cry Super Smash Bros. Dragon Quest Good job Ceej. Make Grand Theft Auto Mario fodder. I guess he thinks Warcraft is a good enough matchup for GTA, but I don't think so. I could be wrong though. I don't see Warcraft on that level on this site. Sonic/SSB could be interesting, but I personally don't think Sonic games are nearly as popular as him as a character. Ultima Division Final Fantasy Diablo Mario Kart Mega Man Street Fighter The Elder Scrolls Resident Evil Shadow Hearts Well this definitely has the best matchup of the first round in Mario Kart/Mega Man. Street Fighter/Elder Scrolls/Resident Evil could be interesting, although I think Resident Evil is more popular than Street Fighter now due to RE4. Sonic > SSB seems like a lock to me. It's basically "every sonic game ever" vs. SSBM. Because while there are those who prefer SSB, there isn't too many of them, manly the fighting game "purists" but then again, fighting game purists seem to not want to call SSB a fighting game. Sonic > SSB? I can't see it. We have seen one Sonic game in action and it went up against the Mario game of that generation for crying out loud. It's entirely possible, at least to me, that something could have happened in such a match that makes Sonic 2 look weaker than it did. On top of that, it's likely that Sonic 2 isn't even the strongest of Sonic games. Then you have the fact that Sonic has a lot of other games to pull from, and I'm not sure how SSB wins that based on one really strong game ... Soul Calibur's positioning annoys me the worst. It had so much potential. Hell there are so many match ups with wasted potential. Mario Kart/Mega Man is the only first round match that's even very debatable. I took Mario Kart. I don't really think it will win, but they'll both lose to FF next round, so why not go for the upset? Here are the only matches I find possibly debatable. The ones with asterisks are the only ones giving me any actual trouble: Castlevania/Halo Mario Kart/ Mega Man Pokemon/Metroid Halo/Kingdom Hearts* Sonic/SSB* Street Fighter/Resident Evil Metal Gear/Kingdom Hearts/Halo LOZ/FF* --- "What's wrong with boot blacking? I like it very much." |
