Should I be hesitant on Fire Emblem/Silent Hill? I have no idea how the
Nintendo fanbase will treat Fire Emblem, and I've never played a game

... Star Ocean. That is a no brainer. You're joking right? RPG vs. Square RPG? I don't see Star Ocean getting 20% on FFVII. And that's not even taking into account SFF. Also, fire emblem vs. silent hill had me going back and forth. I thought about that one for a second, but I don't think we have seen anything from Silent Hill being in a contest before. Still, Fire Emblem was pretty damn weak in the Games Contest. I ended up picking Fire Emblem purely because it was a Nintendo franchise. --- "Princess, there's no need for worry. By far the greatest thing about this bracket is that Fire Emblem wins a match. Samus and Metroid typically do terrible against fellow Nintendo stuff...and the Metroid series gets three Nintendo series in a row. I'm guessing Zelda/Metroid is going to be really ugly, considering that WW beat Prime and LttP crushed Super. Sonic/SSB is a great match, but I'm going with SSB. I don't really have a reason, but it'd be hard to justify either pick. It will also be interesting to see if SSB can stand up to SMB, or if Sonic can pull a Shadow on SMB. GTA/WarCraft...gotta go with GTA. But I'm always wrong about Blizzard matches, so what do I know. I'm taking Castlevania to win its four-pack. Go ahead and call me crazy. The last division, other than FF's obvious dominance, is actually rather tricky. I'm going with Mega Man over Mario Kart, but that could easily go the other way. I'm going with SF over TES, but even that I'm unsure of. I'm going with RE over SF, but that could go wrong. Fire Emblem wins, no problem. Even if you'd argue that they're both at the same popularity level, Fire Emblem being a Nintendo series AND an RPG is all the edge it needs on GameFAQS. --- "What's wrong with boot blacking? I like it very much." |

So do people think SO could take out Pokemon? It seems like a possible upset now, but so did several things last summer that turned out to be rather...bad. I'm thinking of taking because I love the series and either one loses next round --- Throw your life away...FOR JUSTICE!! |

You're joking right? RPG vs. Square RPG? I don't see Star Ocean

FFVII, seeing how Xenogears was released immediately after FFVII. I was referring to Star Ocean 3, which has the "Square Enix" label right there on the package, though it is developed by tri-ace. Both of them would be regarded as "Square RPGs," except one of them is not only more recent, but sold really well. I wouldn't even have to think about it if it were SO3 against Xenogears. That does not remotely difficult to me because I could see SO3 getting 20% on FFVII. Star Ocean 3 couldin't even get one character into a contest. Even Yuri from Shadow Hearts managed to make it. ... That doesn't really mean much of anything. Star Ocean 3, at least judging from that Top FAQ listing, was up there for a long, long time. No I dont think SO can take out Pokemon. Im not even sure it will be
close. But I also didnt hesitate to put SSB over Sonic. The hype for
Brawl and the fact Melee easily destorys any singular Sonic game has be
convinced. I think the original Sonic games have about the same fanbase
and I dont see the love/hate Adventure games changing it all that much. --- Where am I? |

I agree with Lopen. My first thought when looking at that part of the
bracket was not whether Sonic would beat SSB, it was whether Sonic

Well guys remember the Villian contest looked even easier than this.
Bowser's divsion only Ocelot/Wily was BARELY debated upon. Sephiroth
division only Mother Brain/Lavos. Ganondorf's division had some
Robotnik/Sin debate with the winner facing Kuja. Diablo's division had
Diablo/Ridley, Diablo/Ridley/M Bison and then that winner. Thats only 7 matches. This one has atleast Pokemon/Star Ocean, Silent Hill/Fire Emblem, Halo/Castlevania, Halo/KH, Warcraft/GTA, SSB/Sonic, Mega Man/Mario Kart, Elder Scrolls/SF and winner versus RE. Thats 9 matches. --- Where am I? |

I'll say it now. Sonic is far more popular here than his games. Debatable. Dante has everything going for him to be the "cool" popular character. I have Halo over KH as of the moment, and it's the only one I'm really
undecided on. Other matches I could see going differently then I have
