Nah, I figure Mario characters got more of a boost in 2k5 than Link characters... I agree with that, except I might call them Zelda characters. =p Whoa, I actually agree with that. If anything, I think 53% might be selling FF a bit short. I would have said at least 55%, but I was unsure of the general opinion in here. The last thing I'm getting called before the contest is delusional. Maybe during, but not before!! --- Some stories can't be told by words. Some legends are meant to die. Lopen, I beleive, asked if I would take FF8>FF6. Well, assuming
there was no SFF between CT and FF7... probably so. Of course, there's
a fairly large gap between FF6 and SSBM for FF8 to fit in to beat Zelda

I doubt that, but then, I don't know how popular Star Wars is around here. I know it's of good opinion, but this is a website that really got started after a Final Fantasy VII FAQ. And Cloud and Sephiroth are huge contenders in the Summer Contests. SW:KotOR got 39.68% on GTA:VC and #36 in the Top 100 List, and
SW:Battlefront 2 was the multi-platform GotY in 2k5. That said, nah, it
wouldn't be too strong, but I would feel safe in giving it the edge

Ah, but Star Wars: KotOR isn't Star Wars. Sure, there will be votes
gained for the Star Wars name alone, and that may allow it to win a
match or two, but again, this is GameFAQs. Now, I've never played KotOR, and I've no doubt it's a good game, but we're talking about series, about games. Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, I'd even bet on Kirby to beat it. From what I judge using the NCAA Games Contest (which I realize has no true influence on the contest itself), KotOR has a solid fanbase that sticks with it almost every time, but it cannot take down even the lightweight games of series. If matched up against something like Suikoden, Max Payne, or something fairly obscure, I have no doubt in my mind it will win. The heavy contenders, no. Not on the Star Wars name alone. movies. I don't think the movies would help much at all.. though I'd

It's not like FFX hasn't ben in the Top 10 FAQs since its release (at the very least, it's been just outside of the Top 10). Sorry if I misunderstood you. I just had this feeling you were trying to say that FFX being in the Top 10 effected FFVII or its characters. --- My name says it all. |
