Quite frankly, Ceej ought to milk that pic for all it's worth. I'm not
a big fan of Snake's, but even I'm getting tired of getting crappy pic
after crappy pic for the guy. Quiz question: Should DKC be considered its own series? I personally think not. it's painful to see Super Metroid below Metroid Fusion. The SSB effect. Like it or not, SSB/M was the first time many people, including myself, were exposed to Samus. Quiz question: Should DKC be considered its own series? Hell yes. DKC has a totally different gameplay style and presentation from the 80s DK games. If CT isn't available for download on the Wii, Crono will eventually
break the Noble Nine. If it is, he has nothing to worry about, and the

Crono made it to the finals of last year's character contest. Chrono
Trigger also placed high recently. Why would you think Crono would

What we saw of CT in the last character battle was rather worrying, at
least in my point of view. Being almost on par with Sonic and Megaman
is NO GOOD, and Snake looks to be on the way up as well. But entering
double-digit-land in the rankings? I'm skeptical. He could end up #9 at
worst in a few years, I say. Of course, if CT is downloadable, it's a moot point. Heck, maybe the old FF characters could get a hand if the right conditions are met. And with that, I'm off to bed. Mario, Samus, Sonic, Solid Snake, Bowser, Ganondorf, Tifa, and Vincent
are all characters not far from Crono that have just as much reason or
moreso to gain soon. Not to say everyone will get ahead of him and

Why would Crono drop now after 11 years going strong? Sure
he can't sustain this forever, but I don't see him dropping anytime
soon. Maybe like 10 years or so when most of the current demographic
has changed. But as of now? Chrono Trigger is still the third most
popular game on the site, and until otherwise, Crono will still

The years can't be helping, and another generation of systems and the
younger fans it will bring probably won't do it any favors either. If
it hadn't been for the Virtual Console, I would definitely be counting
on Crono dropping...but, as is, I suspect he'll stay steady for who

I don't think Crono is going to drop because there is
really no reason for him to just lower in opinion when GameFAQs hold
Chrono Trigger in such high regard over a decade after its release. It still
can work on normal emulation to get people to play it. Even though it
hasn't been confirmed, I think Chrono Trigger on the Virtual Console is
basically a guarantee at this point. I would be shocked if it were not
there. That said, everyone else below and around him do have reason to see increases with the next-generation of consoles and games coming out. Unless Square announces a remake or sequel with him as the main character, it's unlikely he'll just skyrocket. It would be nice if he could get an appearance in Kingdom Hearts III though. Anyway, there's just a lot of reason for everyone else to catch up to him. I think the Noble Nine and a few of the characters right outside the Noble Nine are going to be really, really close to each other in a couple of years. The only clear gap should be Cloud, Link, Sephiroth and then everyone else. Get working on a CT remake, Square!! --- Some stories can't be told by words. Some legends are meant to die. Because I'm extremely bored, I decided to make what would
be the 2005 bracket if it had been done in 4x16 format. I took some
liberty in determining where you make the break in the seeding, but it
works. Granted, not much changes (no first round matches change), but
it does create a few other interesting matchups: Mushroom Division (1) Mario (16) Joanna Dark (8) Ness (9) Carl Johnson (5) Bowser Koopa (12) Chun-Li (4) Lloyd Irving (13) Albert Wesker (6) Zero (11) Ryu Hayabusa (3) Ryu (14) Rikku (7) Tidus (10) King of All Cosmos (2) Samus Aran (15) Yuri Hyuga Of note: Mario's road to the Final Four gets even EASIER due to three straight SFF matches now. Ryu/Zero COULD be interesting though, perhaps to see if we get any SFF and see how the winner holds up against Samus. Gear Division (1) Solid Snake (16) Manny Calavera (8) Vivi Orunitia (9) Princess Zelda (5) Ganondorf (12) Yuna (4) Sora (13) Agent 47 (6) Kratos (11) Alucard (3) Auron (14) Big Boss (7) Riku (10) Frog (2) Kirby (15) Cecil Harvey Of note: That Ganondorf/Sora matchup could be interesting this year depending on where you think Ganon is. Snake/Ganon could still be interesting (once again), depending on where you think Ganon is. Auron/Kirby could be pretty good as well, and seeing how the winner holds up against Snake (or Kirby/Ganondorf if you think he beats Snake) would be nice. Yoshi/Dante might be interesting. Crono's road to the Final Four becomes even easier, just like Mario. Most years, I think most would take that pick without thinking, but after last year...who knows? I suppose there is a possibility that he'll post the bracket later
today seeing as how it would still be June 1st when he did it. ... But I'm tired of trying to rationalize this every damn time the expectation is not met. Give us an update, give us a bracket, or just completely scrap the entire idea all together. This is ridiculous. At the very least he could post a bracket now and
still not start the contest until whenever exactly it is he plans on
doing so. That would at least give us something to talk about... I mean
come on, were almost getting to the point in time where the summer

Someone asked a question a bit earlier regarding the poll haveing live
updates. The poll today did have real-time results change. I'll keep

Since I was up to check if a match would be posted, I FVed and then
refreshed for a few minutes. And yes, the first 5 minutes of polls are
still insta-update; everything from my 9th vote through vote 277 at the
