I was sittin' on it as well. First it gets to 497, and no one posts for 10 minutes. Then the final three messages pop up in under a minute. This is what I had ready:

Has the poll been brokenish recently? What I mean is, today is the second time I've been up at 3:00 when the poll started, and right after I voted I thought I got the second vote, but of course I know I didn't. I thought it did insta-updates for the first five minutes?

Not anymore. The first freeze of the poll is within a couple seconds of when the poll is put up on the front page. Instant updates only apply to votes made before this.
