So these topics are still around! Awesome. After the board search function returned nothing I was afraid they were done. Just watched Advent Children a few hours ago so I wanted to come on here. This seems to be pseudo-on topic so I'll post some thoughts here. Overall the quality wasn't what I had hoped, especially in terms of the plot. I also found the first half too frantic and disjointed. However it was still an extremely memorable and highly enjoyable movie. The animation was just beyond belief, and the fight scenes were terrific. The action sequences were very well executed. I had hoped the plot would be more satisfying but the movie still deserves extremely high marks and overall was still very satisfying. So is there supposed to be a contest this year? If you mean Spring, no. CJay was too busy. Have there been any tidbits/hints dropped? anyway, I was thinking the other day - couldn't we gauge

as #2 in the days after the leak. it's currently at #7 and climbing. I'd wager the competition these days is a lot tougher though; Kingdom Hearts 2 and both Oblivions won't be surpassed any time soon, so I wouldn't compare the rankings directly. After the movie, you likely have people wanting to go back and play
Final Fantasy VII again. You could have others who just want to check
up on some plot related bits and all other sorts of stuff. It actually

Okay, what exactly causes your FAQs ranking to go up? Is it number of
hits on the FAQ page or how many hits on each individual FAQ? Are

Okay... if that's the case then I can see why it went up anyways. I
don't think it's people suddenly deciding to replay the game. I think
it's more discussion on the boards and people going back to the FAQs to

I could see quite a few people replaying the game after seeing the
movie, actually. There is no way to tell, of course, but I would lean
toward it being a mixture of people checking up on some plot related

I certainly have an urge to replay the game, especially after watching

The first we ever hear of a contest is when the nominations open. I
wasn't tracking this information for the Summer 2002 Contest, but it
was probably sometime in May. It was around May 28th for the Summer
2003 Contest. End of June for the Summer 2004 Contest and sometime in
June for the Summer 2005 Contest. But we had Spring Contests in those

Usually when a big game (or movie) gets release people might go back to
previous games, for example when GTA: San Andreas came out Grand Theft

for the record, message board rankings are determined by unique users
posting in a given day. if I take all my alts and go to a dead board, I
can get it to #1 on its system without a problem. I imagine FAQ pages are determined by individual hits. judging AC's effect by the top 10 FAQs isn't the most accurate thing in the world, but it's better than anything else we've got. it lets us know how much of an impact the released version has compared to the leak at least. I also agree that it has more "competition" right now. it's obviously not going to top KH2 and probably won't top Oblivion as well. (also interesting is KH1 being back in the top 10.) --- xyzzy |
