Yeah, I didn't like how the bracket pretty much tailed off in the end
either. I guess it's kinda expected when you keep Link & Cloud as
far aparts as possible. *shrug* The only things I am immediately not fond of are the facts that Ganondorf is not being used and Gordon may actually win a match. I was considering flip floping Ganon & Vincent's positions but I wanted to see if anyone would say anything about it. As for Gordon, well he's never really been in tight match before. It'd be fun to see the board explode...or rather implode at the sight GF being close or even leading a match. :P (don't bring Morrigan and Kasumi back after 4 years and give them unwinnable matches) Hey I <3 Morri, my favorite character afterall. But if she ever did sniff a contest again, that's the position she'd be likely to get without a massive rally unfortunately. As for Kasumi, I think she'll be back, but knowing Ceej she'll be 'that fighting character that loses to Sonic in the first round' Ganondorf needs to be in that first match with Vincent and have the winner fed to Snake Hmm, didn't think of that. That would be very awesome. --- HAVE YOU SEEN ME: Morrigan, Aya Brea, Strider Hiryu, Claire Redfield -- Missing since 2002. Help them return this summer! |

Sora/Luigi could be fun; I see mnm played it safe and picked both to win in his prediction. Oops... I did that bracket kinda fast... But yeah, I'd safely pick Luigi. Now that I've actually played through Kingdom Hearts, I'm quite puzzled as to how big a boost Sephiroth got from it. *spoilers* - - - - - - - - Sephiroth's an optional boss at the end of the game that has no relation to the story at all. The casual player may not even get that far into the game, and many will just give up fighting him after he kills Sora in two hits. Squall and Cloud's boosts are understandable, since they both played important parts in the story, but I can't figure out how it gave Sephy the strength to wallop Mega Man like that. |

Just to throw it out there ... Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children releases tomorrow (April 25th) in America and released today (April 24th) in Europe meaning that it'll be out to everyone after tomorrow. What was rather cool to see was how much exposure the game is getting through various ads both on GameFAQs and throughout the whole Internet. I've seen ads on practically every gaming website (GameSpot, IGN, 1UP.com, GameFAQs, etc.), which is nice because it definitely is increasing the awareness of it. I also noticed that Advent Children commercials have been all over television. I have seen them on ESPN, ABC, G4, FOX, Adult Swim, and tons of other programs and channels. I expected there to be a few commercials on some of the more gaming-related stations and places like Cartoon Network, but it was great to see it on ABC, ESPN, and FOX. A neat little ad that shows a bunch of action sequences and tops it all off with the famous Sephiroth walking through fire scene. Finally, Advent Children, the DVD, was reviewed by IGN the other day and they scored it with a 9.0/10 (Outstanding). Even cooler was that Amazon.com's "Top Seller" list had Advent Children slowly rising to the top throughout the week until just a couple of days ago where it became the Top Seller and has stayed there ever since. It also appears to have gotten back onto the Top 50 FAQs. Anyway, here's a few links I spoke of ... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/new-for-you/top-sellers/-/dvd/all/ref=d_hp_sn_ts/104-4579376-9835948 http://dvd.ign.com/articles/701/701928p1.html Cloud's going to kick some ass!! --- "I haven't invested as much time into any game as I have [Twilight Princess]." -- Shigeru Miyamoto |

How difficult was it to find? How many copies were there? I'm not the ideal person to ask this question to because of the fact that I got mine a couple of days before the release. I have scanned a few areas today just to check up on how well it's selling. I know places like Best Buy and Target, at least around here, had entire sections dedicated to Advent Children. It wasn't just going into the DVD section and looking for it; it was all in your face and such. I do know, however, that people have have an incredibly hard time finding it because it keeps selling out everywhere. I believe someone from Wal-Mart said they had sold all of their copies by noon today. I think Square Enix's rather big advertising for the movie has paid off rather well. It appears to be sold out virtually everywhere. Some people I've talked to have said that some stores got ~30 copies of the DVD. It'll be interesting to see how much it sells. I figure we'll be getting a press release from Square Enix on the number of copies sold or at least shipped in a few days. Oh, and the UMD versions of the game don't appear to be selling all that well, but I think we all could have predicted that. --- On your knees. I want you to beg for forgiveness. -- Sephiroth |

Nah, HM ain't going to go that far. Yes, there may be FF:AC, KH2, and
maybe even DoC to help his case, but I've got good faith he's not going
to take it to that extreme. Mega Man already bit him in the ass, and he
knows Cloud is stronger than Sephiroth in every year (except 2k2,
stat-wise, and that one is very very arguable/wrong)...that won't
change this year, he's smarter than that. Sephiroth: Aniversary Collection comes out June 2k7 though, so we know who his champion will be then. =P --- Miss my Four-Pack Of Fun? Go here: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gentopic.php?board=585007 |

Then you have the group who have not seen it yet, but might see it someday, which could be anywhere from next week to however long from now. Still could have quite a few more watchers between now and when the actual contest starts. Finally, you have the 17.9% (12,873) who claim to have no interest in the movie at all, which is a big improvement from the ~28% in the last poll who had no interest in it. After KHII and FFXII, Square probably needed this. The sales/money? I think KHII and FFXII (just from Japan) are very lucrative for Square on themselves. Most games start making money after they sell over 200,000 units (or so I've been told). I know FF/KH are not ordinary games in the production values department, but together they've already sold over 3,000,000 units worldwide. Probably, but Square has already officially stated that sales of
KHII and FFXII left them disappointed. The company had to lower their
operating profit expectations by over 40%. Really? At this rate, I think KH2 and FFXII are going to outsell KH and FFX respectively. In Japan, that is. I'm not sure what to make of the 600,000 figure from KH2 in NA (if it's anything like Japan, that would mean NA KH2 sales would end up around 800,000 or something). And I know KH2 had only 3 days till NPD, but FFXII sold around 75% of its total sales in its first three days. --- "Now I realise.. I wasn't pursuing Sephiroth. I was being summoned by Sephiroth" |
