Yeah, but a lot of people said FFX-2 sucked, and Yuna came back last year stronger than she was in 2003.

Granted, she didn't actually make it into the tournament the year after the game came out, but only because of the cap. Rikku, too, who probably would've never made it in without that game.

I wouldn't consider Kefka or Ness to be locks. They'll probably return, but I could see either of them missing it. If there's a company cap, they'd be in danger. I definitely consider Kefka less likely to return than Magus.

No, Kefka won't be missing. His seed has gotten higher every contest. Ness has enough hardcore Earthbound fans to keep him here, and its cult fanbase can have an impact in the nomination period. Kefka's fanbase is enough to keep him here as well. Again, outside of board 8, I doubt many people nominate on the basis of contest performance.
