I'm interested in a Female Contest if only because it might give us the opportunity to see how well Terra could perform with a sprite pic. I think there is still potential for breaking Tanner's record. People cared enough about Tanner to nominate him seriously (and he got more nominations than Earthworm Jim and Duke Nukem). A guy whose sole purpose is to be cannon fodder should be able to surpass him, especially if he gets Snake.

Do keep in mind that more people voted for Tanner over Solid Snake than people even admitting they own an N-Gage...hell, if memory serves me right, I think Tanner-votes almost doubled that N-Gage owner-votes. Not everybody with an N-Gage would have played Operation Shadow, and not everyone who has would vote for Jay, especially over some other general favorites like Mega Man.

Jay has all the potential in the world...to be insanely weak. He has far more potential than Tanner, and look at what he did; not a soul expected him to bomb like that...and he's got fans, too. His game is on the PS2, too. His series is recognizable, too. I would feel okay thinkin' Tanner would go toe-to-toe with the N-Gage in a contest-style match or better, heh.

Jay Solano would be the epitome of a board creation, and the only ways I would see him gettin' above Tanner -- even unadjusted Tanner -- is if anti-votes are a real force to reckon with or if somebody on our board decides to be an ass and try to ruin the joke/test by cheating.

I still think Solid Snake probably SFF'd Tanner somewhat. Not enough to make Tanner anything of note, but I don't think he's quite as weak as he looks.

Anyway, all Jay Solano will be is a measure of anti-votes and joke votes.

Back to Knuckles, I sadly have to say that his support in a Knuckles/Shadow matchup would be split between old school Sonic fans and new school Sonic fans. While people who began with the Genesis game know how undoubtedly awesome Knuckles is, there are many people who don't like Knuckles simply because of his Sonic Adventure treasure hunting levels and his association with hip-hop themed music, as idiotic as that sounds.

As much as this topic and board despises Shadow, there are plenty others (like my little brother) who think Shadow is the most awesome being in existence just because he looks badass and says "badass" lines like "This is the ULTIMATE!!" and "Playtime is OVER!" I would take Knuckles, but I'd be pretty nervous about it.

Come to think of it, I had a theory...

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle might be able to defeat Sonic 2 in a direct match up. It was on the top ten Gamecube boards for YEARS, outlasting many other games. Shadow's popularity comes exclusively from that game, and he's a decent midcarder, unlike Tails and Robotnik, who have an entire career behind them yet they're bordering on fodder.

And I might as well say it: Sonic Battle Shadow isn't stupid. He's actually a decent character in that game. Not enough people have played it to really notice that, though.
