Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. Same plot as Sand of Time too. Kaileena will be in it.

Kaileena in Sands of Time?

...Does that mean Farah and Kaileena have a fight?

Maybe throw in some Shahdee for good measur-Actually wait. Shahdee is an ugly *****.

I don't see a reason why Shadow would rSFF Mario at all, or even by that much. I can understand World and Sonic 2, them being in the same generation and them competing like hell, but would they really share a fanbase that large character wise? Enough for Sonic to rSFF into a win? I dunno.
From: HaRRicH | Posted: 2/21/2006 2:03:32 PM | Message Detail
At the same time, Shadow benefitted from "rSFF" (though I guess it technically would be, it's only because of him being a proxy) much much more than Sonic would; the amount Sonic could rSFF Mario would be almost non-existant compared to what Shadow did when he was the Sonic-proxy.

I just noticed, ironically enough, that Shadow's best year was Sonic's worst year. No real point to it, just felt like pointing it out.

the only way a game could be turned into a good movie is if one of those epic specialists (spielberg/cameron/scott/jackson) make a film version of either the zeldas or FFIX/VI.then we could get something on par with LotR.

I don't see why a PoP movie automatically has to be bad. They're using the same writer from the games, and basing it off the Sands of Time plotline, so the story should be fine right there, and Jerry Bruckheimer has shown to be more than capable with making movies.

you see if they use a game writter the plot of the film might become nonsensical and confusing.

in games there's a certain freedom to use all sorts of lines.and the writters might want to cram all those ideas in renderring the dialogue a bit bland.

Actually he was a film student who studied film in Paris for many, many years. His schooling is in this very thing. He wrote and programmed the original Prince of Persia, and after the game was made he went to Paris to study film. Once there he was contacted to make a sequel to PoP, but he refused, when he found out all he had to do was write the storyline for it, and that others would do the programming or "hard work" he agreed to it, and continued to study film, as well as create films of his own.

He then took a break from gaming for 4 years, pursuing the movie industry even more, creating documentaries as well.

I could keep going on about his life story, but instead I'll just say he's not simply a game writer.

i'm the only film maniac in my class and after seeing countless classics and rubbish film and a bit of both in one sometimes i think it's safe to say that video games need more care.

i mean comic book adaptations work more often that to a great cast and many top draw people from behind the scenes.

video games need the same thing.but they also need a couple of experienced filmakers with a correct CV.

i mean michael bay while not a subtle director could turn a FPS like halo into a mass brawl like the rock.

sam raimi(sp) would turn resident evil into a full on fight for survival evil dead style.

peter jackson would stage impressive battles with an FF title.

martin scorcese and quentin tarantino could turn GTA into slick gangster movies.

but that will never happen cause those directors have other things to do.mainly work on mega budget projects.

Shadow did well against Mario because of the "Coolest ****ing Picture of All Time" Factor. Seriously, I just stared in awe for a minute after seeing that picture for the first time. It was absolutely incredible.

He's a Producer, not a director. Instead, we're getting the writer of...Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Ouch.

If Tarantino said he wanted to do the GTA movie Miramax would fund it without second thought (if it was in their ability). And it'd sell. For that to happen Tarantino would need to find a reason to want the job.

jerry may be a good producer.

his CV shows he's worked with some good directors already but John August is involved in the thing and that worries me.his CV is way to unpredictable from good stuff like titan AE to bs like charlie's angels.

prince of persia would be awesome if someone like brian de palma was involved.he may not do the scenery justice nor the fantastic elements but he would turn PoP into a tough lone ranger and add in a lot of suspense.

almost a film noir thriller with action.

i mean he made carrie, the untouchables and mission impossible.actually since he made carrie the horror elements would work quite well.

*shudders at sissy spacek's psychopathic killer in carrie it was just a joke no nedd to go bonkers.*

So, does anyone think SMB DS will be big enough to allow Mario to challenge Sephiroth? Seeing Mario get stronger in this contest is about the last thing I want, but if he can break the big three it would at least make things interesting.

Master Chief would certainly have a much easier time.

And I sent in a feedback ticket asking Ceej to ignore these results entirely. GameFAQs is always resistant to change, so these aren't exactly a surprise. But I'm just done with polls starting at 3 AM. It's horrible :(

IMO, a better question to ask would be just a simple binary choice: Midnight (EST) or Midnight (PST). Period, no other descriptors or anything like that.

The site's East Coast bias would pull through there. Then we could put it back at 1 am EST for the sake of tradition. <_<

This is really disappointing... I give CJay credit for being open minded enough to put the Poll out there, but the guy doesn't seem to know how to create a poll without introducing bias. He's also way too hung up on the "they all need 5 options!" idea, for some reason, even when a binary choice is obviously preferable.

The only way we'll see a change is if we can get him to ask

When would you like to see new Contest matchups start?

Personally, I disagree that a binary choice would be preferable for the poll - but I agree he should have left out "just keep it". I think it would be interesting to see what different times were chosen, if the question were asked without bias.

Actually, what he should have done is picked 8 different start times and then decided it contest-style.

So my 75 KB Top 10 list was rejected for: "Top 10 lists should be game focused; this is too far off the path".

Rejecting something for being stupid is one thing, but rejecting something because it thinks too far outside the box is ridiculous -- even moreso considering all of the work I put into writing that list.

That's a really easy way to kill someone's love of contributing to GF, the other being constantly accepting someone's copy-paste jobs from official strategy guides, then acting like nothing is wrong with it by handing them a mod position as a thank you.
