And since people love to rave about the omnipresence of symbolism in
Xenosaga, I imagine there's some sort of deep connection between Albedo
and albedo... right?

Have you ever played the game, Slow?
And on a better note, I now have the first 48 matches of Summer 2005 archived. I should have the RPGDL topic updated by the end of the week.

On my Robotnik write-up, change the quote to:
"Goodbye Sonic...my worthy adversary." - Robotnik, shortly before launching Sonic into space
And I don't know if you saw this before, but this HAS to be Felix's quote:
"Why?" - Felix

***Earthbound SPOILERS***

It's been a while since I played Earthbound so I may not be correct on everything.
From Giygas's page:
"Ness isn't exactly head over heels for such a daunting task, but he goes forth with his quest anyway because he knows that he is the only one who has the psychic powers necessary to do anything about Giygas's plans."
I think it had more to do with Ness being pure of heart then his actual powers. While his psychic powers are definitly a plus, his psychic attacks were pretty much worthless against Giygas.
""YOU CANNOT GRASP THE TRUE FORM OF GIYGAS' ATTACK!" -EarthBound"
This isn't in all caps in game, but i'm guessing it's intentional here.
"'It's not right... it's not right... it's not right... I'm... h...a...p...p...y.....'"
The exact wording for this would be:
"It's not right... not right... not right..."
"...I'm h... a... p... p... y..."
It's two seperate quotations, not one. I'm not sure if it ever says them one after another.
Have you tried running it past Lucid Faia? He could probably point out a lot of things I missed.

Hmm. You make it sound like Prime takes place after Super.
Prime doesn't take place after Super?
~*ST*~
Nope. Metroid --> Prime 1, 2 and 3 --> Metroid 2 --> Super Metroid --> Metroid Fusion.
***METROID SERIES SPOILERS***
It's obvious, when you think about it. It can't happen between Metroid 2 and Super, because the end of M2 and the start of Super are within minutes of each other. Can't be between Super and Fusion either, because after Super the Metroids are extinct, aside from those few found in the secret lab near the end of Fusion. Besides, not only is there a reference to the events of Metroid 1 in one of the scans on the Space Frigate, but Zebes still very much exists at that point according to the hologram in the room where you get the Super Missiles.

Zebes couldn't be on the hologram and still exist?
Eh, no matter. I doubt most people will even notice.
"It's not right... not right... not right..."
"...I'm h... a... p... p... y..."
It's two seperate quotations, not one. I'm not sure if it ever says them one after another.
Fixed, though I did mix the quotes on purpose.
"Ness isn't exactly head over heels for such a daunting task, but he goes forth with his quest anyway because he knows that he is the only one who has the psychic powers necessary to do anything about Giygas's plans."

You don't know that until you fight him, which is part of why EarthBound kicks ass. You go through all of this trouble while thinking that Giygas is your standard final RPG boss, but he turns out to be a whole hell of a lot more than you'd expect. Every final boss should be as intimidating and freaky as he is.

Let's take a look at that bracket
1. Samus
8. Jay Solano
4. Tidus
5. Pac-Man
3. Sora
6. Tommy Vercetti
2. Tifa
7. Meta-Knight
Switch Tidus and Vercetti around it would make both of those matches more interesting.
1. Vincent
8. K. K. Slider
4. Fox
5. Tails
3. King of All Cosmos
6. Prince of Persia
2. Bowser
7. Kratos Aurion
We don't need to see KoaC back again. Also if you really want ToS in this contest pick a character that hasn't been in the contest.
1. Mega Man
8. Bahamut
4. Donkey Kong
5. Yuna
3. Captain Falcon
6. Vyse
2. Master Chief
7. Alucard
Vyse doesn't need to return.
1. Ganondorf
8. Carmen Sandiego
4. Vivi
5. Diablo
3. Knuckles
6. Serge
2. Ryu
7. Frog
Good
1. Crono
8. Sub-Zero
4. Gordon Freeman
5. Soma Cruz
3. Luigi
6. Shadow the Hedgehog
2. Auron
7. Roy (FE6)
Ok
1. Kirby
8. CATS
4. Kefka
5. Locke
3. Ken
6. Ike
2. Dante
7. Pheonix Wright
Let's not have Kefka/Locke, it may look good on paper, but it will be just another SFF blowout.
1. Solid Snake
8. Tom Nook
4. Protoman
5. Cecil
3. Yoshi
6. Magus
2. Zero
7. Aeris
We already have an Animal Crossing character, plus Tom has already been in a contest. Cecil did just terible against Kirby.
1. Sonic
8. Nightmare
4. Ness
5. KOS-MOS
3. Zelda
6. Joanna Dark
2. Squall
7. Pious Augustus
ok.
2k5 Returners: 41

You know, maybe it's just me, but I'd like to see the SC2K2 bracket run
now just to see how it all holds up now...I mean, I wouldn't want it to
take the place of an actual contest, but like have it be a second poll
under the main contest.
I dunno. I think it might be interesting.

That would be kinda interesting. Funny thing is recently I've been
thinking, out of the characters who've only made an apperance in 2k2,
Kasumi just might be the only one to retain her strength, or at the
very least suffer the smallest drop off. Right now I'm almost...ALMOST tempted to nominate her just to see if that's true.

The only thing that worries me is that it might cause Gordon to win a match.
However, it would be the most hilarious thing ever to happen if he lost to Tina again.

Does this site care at all about the 360 GotY?
And looking back at the 2k2 bracket, there aren't a whole lot of matches where I think the winner would change, even if the percentages would become a lot closer. Matches I'd pick differently:
Tina/Gordon
Jill/Kirby
Jill/Bomberman (Kirby)
Scorpion/Pac-Man (Pac-Man for the Elite 8!)
Mario/Cloud (and this is why this contest shouldn't be rerun)
Mario/Crono (Cloud)

The only big changes would be Cloud > Mario, Kirby taking his 4pack,
and maybe Gordon makes it to Aeris. Other than that the winners are all
the same, the only thing we get to see is beatings more in line with
what the current results would lead us to expect anyway.

Crono/Serge would be the worst match ever.

Let's just put it this way: Crono would get too much.

I am vastly inferior to my Chrono Cross counterpart, Serge. Therefore, you should nominate him for SC2K6 instead of me.

Just for fun, how about we list some Noble 9 matches we'd be most interested in seeing this year? Here are my top five:
5. Snake/Sonic
4. Mario/Mega Man
3. Samus/Mega Man
2. Mario/Sonic
1. Sephiroth/Crono

Sephiroth/Crono? Why?

#4 isn't interesting, we know what would happen now, and we've always
known the outcome of #1 (though I do agree that I'd like to see it).

I'd very much like to see how Sephiroth would perform against a popular
Square hero. The outcome is clear, sure, but the outcome of almost
every N9 match (Mega Man/Sonic being the exception) seems clear these
days.

I think Samus/Crono would be interesting myself. And yeah, a Sonic/Mega Man rematch might be up in the air.

I think that Crono/Samus is more interesting than any of those other
matches, especially with the mysterious circumstances surrounding
Samus's last match.

I'll be taking the bomber over the blur everytime. It certainly wasn't
my undoing last time (damn you Samus). And Yes, Samus/Crono is
obviously the match with the most potential. Unstated fact.

I'd take Sonic over Mega Man again if a rematch came up, but that's just me. I'm stubborn.

Yeah, you do have a hard time getting onboard with THE BETTER CHARACTER (lol Squall) sometimes.
Jokes aside, I don't think Sonic has what it takes to overcome Mega Man, and heaven forbid a MM game comes out that puts him on the same level he used to be on (both in game quality and spotlight).

Having took Mega Man last year, I would take Sonic this year. The Sonic
series is getting more exposure and acclaim than the Mega Man series
lately, and I would think the new people coming here due to the 360
would pick Sonic over Mega Man (though probably wouldn't amount to
much). As-is, the Blue Bomber only has MMX:AC going his way right now...
...and if MM:AC couldn't help his case when it was released in June 2k4, I don't think MMX:AC is gonna help him out six-eight months from now.
Certainly able to go either way though; that was the closest match last year, and it's capable of being even closer again this year with either of them winning.
