Manfred von Karma is the most evil character in Phoenix Wright. There is no coincidence that he looks like Ganondorf.

Agreed. The flaws in the game came from the gameplay - nothing cranking up the difficulty couldn't have solved. I personally have a wishlist of sorts of how it should have been done, but I'm not getting into that.

I'd prefer Ganon not to be a male villain who looks like they spend two hours getting ready before they make their public appearance to the hero. It's also no coincidence that everything interesting about Ganon is always when he is in his human form.

Oh! Nintendo said in that very interview that the game would be much harder and far more challenging than previous Zelda games. Just something worth noting there.

I personally have a wishlist of sorts of how it should have been done, but I'm not getting into that.

I know exactly as you feel. I have a checklist too of all the things they could have done to make the game better. Mainly replacing the Triforce quest into one super dungeon where you had to find all the Triforce pieces inside. Hell, they could have simply linked all the current quests into one dungeon. It seems like the only thing people complain about is the fact that they have to sail back and forth (which is pretty trivial to me).

It's also no coincidence that everything interesting about Ganon is always when he is in his human form.

Meh. I was a fan of Ganon before his human form was introduced (LoZ, AoL, LttP, cartoon, and comics). Ocarina of Time was pretty much the low point for me in terms of Ganon. They made him seem like a buffoon somehow. And his fights seemed uninspired. Just like Bowser in SM64, it seems like Nintendo was content in simply having "I AM GANON! I AM BIG AND BAD!". At least Wind Waker made up for it...

Ganon and Bowser were superior in the SNES games.

"You are doing well, lad. But can you break through this secret technique of Darkness? En Garde!"

Meh. I was a fan of Ganon before his human form was introduced (LoZ, AoL, LttP, cartoon, and comics).

There was nothing wrong with Ganon during that time, but he was also pretty much nothing more than a final boss at the end of the game. There was the beginning of Ganon doing some rather cool things in A Link to the Past, most notably having Agahnim as a puppet, taking over the Golden Realm.

That said, I found him much more threatening and more interesting in Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker. The fact that he was able to conquer Hyrule, thrust it into darkness, and rule uncontested for seven years was awesome. Particularly so because he did it by manipulating the King of Hyrule. I liked Ganon beforehand, but that was the point when I really began to like him more than a majority of other videogame characters. The Wind Waker just built onto that by giving him more reason behind his actions other than just doing it just to do it.

And his fights seemed uninspired. Just like Bowser in SM64, it seems like Nintendo was content in simply having "I AM GANON! I AM BIG AND BAD!". At least Wind Waker made up for it...

Super Mario 64's final boss battle wasn't anything that great, I'll agree. But I found OoT's final battle with Ganon to be awesome. Everything about it from the beginning until the end was amazing, particularly the atmosphere of it all.

Ganon and Bowser were superior in the SNES games.

I agree on Bowser and disagree on Ganon.

I also thought of chucking out 13 useless islands and changing the remaining squares from 1000x1000 to 600x600 (since the islands never come up on the edges of the squares anyway), effectively dividing the time it takes to go from one end of the sea to another by two. Also, make Rupees a lot more scarce. Like, change the ones you find with Treasure Charts to orange ones (keep the green one near Windfall for comedy). Change red to yellow, purple to red, stuff like that. Inflate the cost of Beedle's stuff to like it was in OoT or even beyond, because if you ever run out of arrows or bombs, YOU SUCK. Speaking of which, 99? 40 bombs and 50 arrows in OoT was already too damn much. And boost the cost of bait and pears, too. 10 Rupees is a steal. Inflate the damage enemies and bosses inflict to you. By, like, a lot. Get whacked by a Darknut? WHAM, kiss four hearts bye-bye. Get eaten by Molgera? BAM, eight hearts gone.

And that's only the tip of the iceberg.

I can't wait to see what they do with Ganondorf in Wind Waker either, but I doubt it's going to be anything where he "wins" in the end. TP is most likely going to end with Hyrule flooded, but at the beginning of Wind Waker Ganondorf is in the Sacred Realm (well, kinda), so chances are he gets defeated in some way.

What tells you TP goes between OoT and WW, anyway?

I thought one of the creators said something along those lines.

From the sticky topic on the TP Board:

[2.1] 1) Time:

This game takes place decades after the events of OoT but before the events of the WW. To be clear, decades could mean anything from 20 to 99 years later, so no OoT characters or settings can be guaranteed to still be alive or accessible. But we don't know any more than that folks.

What tells you TP goes between OoT and WW, anyway?

Nintendo said that this game takes place decades after Ocarina of Time. The Wind Waker was hundreds -- one hundred, generations, whatever; I forget exactly what the game said -- of years after Ocarina of Time. It's quite logical to assume it takes place in between OoT and TWW.

What really hit me yesterday was the fact that Nintendo also said the game would have an unhappy ending, along with those comments about Ganon, then it hit me that it's likely to be that portion where Ganon breaks free from the Sacred Realm, reeks havoc on Hyrule, conquers it, and depsite the pleas of the people, the Hero of Time does not come and in the darkest hour the gods decide to seal Ganon away and flood Hyrule. I think that's going to be Twilight Princess, which ultimately would result in Ganon winning. As it would mean Link failed, Zelda failed, and only the gods had the power to stop Ganon.

This is true. Ganon won't technically win, as it should end with Hyrule being flooded. But it wouldn't be a matter of the main hero or anyone else actually stopping him for once. He would have had to have beaten Link, who isn't the Hero of Time the people pleaded for, if he's going to oppose Ganon.

Millions played through LttP ANYWAY... and come on, it's really easy to avoid getting eaten. Anyway, I was probably exaggerating the 8 hearts bit. But still, 90% of everything hurts you for like a quarter of a heart.

And besides, if Link doesn't rise up against Ganon, then what in the world will the game consist of? There's something that just doesn't click.

Link can try to defeat Ganon all he wants to. The idea behind trying to stop Ganon certainly doesn't change, but the good side actually winning in the form of Link just wouldn't happen. Ultimately, as we know, Ganon does get sealed again, but it wouldn't be to the assistance of Link or Zelda. That's what I think makes Twilight Princess so damn awesome in thought.

This is why I wish we had Summer/Winter contests instead... I like the offseason, but too much if it and things start to get boring, I like the contests too, but nearly 6 months straight of them get annoying towards the end with all the youngins who come to the board. That's assuming there will be another Spring Contest of course.

Summer/winter would be nice, though I would hope that winter contests would start on January 1st...I'd hate for a contest to cross over Christmas and screw up stats and such.

At least this off-season is (looking to be) shorter than the off-season before; that Top Ten List is probably what's kept us from letting a CS&D topic purge once or twice this time.

For Link, I would have said "strong-willed and determined" or "compassionate and golden-hearted."

For Samus, the only option I see that fits her is "dark, withdrawn, and mysterious." To a lesser extent, "strong-willed and determined."
