Fun fact: the only performance that was more dominating in one of these was SM64DS in last year's DS poll. The other games that managed to get an absolute majority in their polls were SSBM, Zelda OoA/OoS, Halo and Halo 2.

Probably the first one. I can imagine many people are annoyed with the countless sequels and would anti-vote the sequels to a greater extent, even if its subconsciously. Besides that, the first one isn't all that bad. It's peak strength would probably be...about 20% on FF7.

Well last year San Andreas was released in Nov. while the PC version was released in June maybe people don't remember that well when it was released on the PC.

And besides SA did better as the day went on. It's still anybody's game (even last place could win it, that's how close this poll is)

Well, this poll proves something I've been hammering for a long time: don't underestimate the voters' intelligence. Just because it's GTA:SA doesn't mean it trumps everything - people know it as a 2004 PS2 game. Likewise, if we see RE4 in the PS2 poll, it probably won't be doing much.
