Is there a timetable for FFVI Advance?

they've said it's coming soon, but I'd imagine 5 is coming before 6 unless they release both at the same time. I'd say summer.

Hmmm...There are actually a couple of screens for FFV and FFVI Advance. There's not much difference in FFVI's, from what I could tell. All it showed was the battle with Atma Weapon. FFV had a battle against Gilgamesh.

More like before FFVII, Mario can't have all the credit.

No, Mario does deserve all the credit. FFVII sold ~2.5 million copies in the US, and SMRPG sold ~2 million. Not a very big difference there.

That number is actually quite outdated. You got that number from The Magic Box, didn't you? The number in the US now is actually over 3 million and worldwide sales exceed 9 million.

To break that down a bit more, FFVII sold 5.6 million units in North America/Europe and 3.9 million in Japan -- roughly 9.5 million units worldwide.

Grand Turismo has sold more than 10 million as well -- I think a few of them at that.

And San Andreas is indeed over 10 million copies sold.

Anyway, Gran Turismo sold 10.84 million and Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec sold 14.36 million. Just some confirmation there.

Maybe not Square as a whole, but maybe Kefka will benefit somewhat - especially since I doubt we're going to see pre-FF7 characters other than Kefka ever again.

I really hope the Steelers get BROWN'D. They play the Browns and the Lions, and the Lions have about as much chance of beating the Steelers as Gordon Freeman does of winning a match and Ulti getting a lifetime subscription to WoW, on the same day.

I think Locke would probably flop just as bad as Terra, maybe worse.

Why did FFIV have more to gain? FFA and FFC had pretty similar sales, and FFIV's PS port was infinitely better than FFVI's. I suppose FFVI was already more popular on GF, but then we still had Sephiroth gain more than anyone else from Kingdom Hearts. It doesn't seem to matter how popular the original was, as long as the next one is awesome.

Locke has absolutely nothing on Locke. Edgar's a KING. Locke is just some petty "treasure hunter". Edgar's a pimp. Locke has trouble with his relationships. Edgar's the MAN! Locke is just the messenger. =P

I'll say! Speaking of which, did you see the San Diego Locke end the Indianapolis Locke's undefeated season yesterday? My friend Locke, an Indianapolis Locke fan, was visibly upset, so I was all "I told you, Locke!" and he just told me to Locke off. =(

Kefka will gain more from FFIVA more than anyone else. But the GBA probably won't help any characters at all. Have we seen Marche (FFTA) or Eliwood (FE) in a contest yet? Not to mention both of their games bombed during the game contest.

"Why did FFIV have more to gain?"

Because it was far less popular to begin with. That being regardless of sales, also, just in case you forgot one of the basic rules.

"but then we still had Sephiroth gain more than anyone else from Kingdom Hearts."

No evidence to suggest concretely that it was due to KH. I still think it was a fluke brought on by Cloud beating Link and that he'd have gotten ~44-46 against Cloud otherwise.

No, but we saw Felix almost beat Master Chief, and FFTA beat Street Fighter II in the XS despite being SFF'd. How is that a bomb for FFTA?

That theory makes sense, looking at Mega Man's division. However, it makes no sense at all if you look at Mario's division, so you'll excuse me if I don't believe it.

I say both of those games bombed because they had the lowest vote total of any match in that contest.

You can still use the x-st, but don't put them ahead of common sense.

Which is probably why I'll probably take Tidus over Auron if they were to meet.

Main Character > Side Character

There's few exceptions (FFVI) and FFX isn't one of them.
