I don't know who wrote some of this biased trash, but it has a smell of Ulti to to be honest. ¬_¬

Here are some of the "best" bits.

For whatever reason, Sonic cannot seem to shake off the ghosts of his famous choke job against Samus in 2002. He seriously has not been the same since.

Incorrect, Samus has not been the same since.

The time had come! Sonic would finally win a tough match and shed being called a has-been! Or at the very least, he wouldn't be considered more of a has-been than Mega Man was.

Nobody but you and a handful of others call him that. This week alone Sonic Rush (Tipped to be the greatest platform game in years) and Shadow The Hedgehog are being released.

A few weeks ago next-gen Sonic was revealed and it impressed pretty much everyone. If you want 2D kicks, play handheld Sonic, if you want retro get some of the collections (Sonic CD) or if you want new school with a touch of class play Adventure or wait for the next-gen games. How in the hell is he a has been? Sonic hasn't even peaked yet.

I don't it's hilarious that you neglected to mention once of Sonic's leap in popularity this year.

Forget ever seeing Sonic take down Mario; he can't even beat Mega Man.

Shadow 45% on Mario.

No one expected Knuckles to win that match, outside of a few joke posts here and there.

¬_¬
Again, I had been saying that since the bracket was released. As was many others. I can't remember who they were (charmander maybe?)

Regardless, the only ones who were baffled were the hardcore, due to their Magus bias.

We have that pathetic excuse for a badass, Shadow.

Well I think it's more relative that a weaker Sonic character then himself would naturally do worse on any given character.

Ulti should have left that bit about everyone expecting Sonic to beat Mega Man. That's the hallmark of his analyses, after all: every result is a huge shock, in some fashion. Heck, he made Snake over Bowser an upset.

Eh, SM's the only really great Metroid game, but 3D and 2D Zelda are both pretty good. All Zelda games after Zelda 2 are pretty awesome, so no problem either way, so long as Zelda's keep being developed.

Nah, I really doubt KoaC would crack 15% against Link. Seeing as how the unadjusted x-stats have him at just under 15%, I believe Kirby rSFF'd Bowser a lil', and KoaC could have benefitted from anti-votes against Tidus...I don't see King Cosmos cracking 15% on the site's most popular character.

I'll go with FACT, but not so much because of anti-voting as because of joke-votes. Either way though, Link still wouldn't be too far off from the original estimation.

FACT, easily. Joke voting will do the job, and anti-voting could bring Tanner close to the score he got on Snake. Not that there's a major difference between 3% and 5% anyway, since the other complete losers are so far ahead even Mr. Driller would be projected to get 64%.

No, the question to ask is, would Mr. Driller beat Tanner with 64%, less, or more?

While Tanner is probably behind action hero SFF, his series has pretty much hit rock bottom now. The guy is probably more famous now for being ridiculed in San Andreas than his appearance in Driv3r.

During one of the missions in SA, a security guard is playing a video game and starts ridiculing Driver and yells "Tanner, you suck."

In GTA III, there is also a mission called Two-Face Tanner, where you have to rub out an under cover cop who suspiciously looks like Tanner and drives a car resembling Tanner's.

Yep, Snake's had some lucky draws in the past. Both Samus and he have been in the Elite 8 every year and in the Final 4 once, yet Samus outranked Snake every year. Supposing adjustments for Mario/Cloud and Link/Sephiroth in 2002, as well as Mario/Samus this year, it looks like this:

2002: Samus 7th, Snake 9th
2003: Samus 7th, Snake 8th
2004: Samus 4th, Snake 10th
2005: Samus 5th, Snake 9th

You get the idea. Samus actually fits the 4 Elite 8s, 1 Final 4 mold perfectly, while the only year Snake deserved to make the Elite 8 from a purely statistical standpoint, disregarding bracket placement, was 2003. Well, there's the obvious Clinkeroth-in-ToC thing this year, but he made the Final 4 with Clinkeroth still left to enter the fray, which means final 7 in a way... so Snake still got further than he should have regardless, thanks to Sonic and Samus' early oustings.
