Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 272
From: Haste2 | Posted: 12/1/2005 5:07:44 PM | Message Detail
Most of this bores me now...

Mm, I still wonder about Ganondorf possibly being at 37% on BL. If you assume Samus/Ganondorf SFF, it isn't too unreasonable. Well, except for that comparing Diablo's performances against Sonic and Ganondorf. I can't say it's impossible that one of those matches was a fluke. "OMG Ganondorf is as high as Mario! No way!" Well, people have pegged Bowser at 36.xx%, anyway. Hey, and using a constant CATS, Ganondorf is suggested to be quite strong. :P But, come on, someone please at least tell me they think Ganondorf being that strong is at least a small possibility.

Actually, Ganondorf off constant CATS is pretty weak.

However, if you do fun stuff like constant Wesker, or constant Seph, Ganon goes up quite a lot.

I would rather not consider such things. Ganondorf being able to break the ranks of the Noble Nine is a disturbing thought.

Sorry for the lack of clarity. I meant basing Sp2K5 Ganondorf off of SC2K5 CATS...the x-stats have CATS a bit higher in SC2K5 than in Sp2K5. But, not that it matters, since MC is suspucious.

The way I adjusted Ganondorf, Bowser and Ocelot was through the villains contest. Kefka and Diablo predict around what they should get.

As for Wesker, CATS and Sephiroth, well that could all be explain through Kefka's pic, MC's anti-votes and Sephiroth's failing in grade school.

Wesker? No. Wesker was really that weak.

Q: Why was Chris Benoit kicked out of the gas station?
A: Because he was carrying matches.

Why's that? He deserves to be there more than any of the current members, excluding Snake. I don't get why people like Link more than Ganon.

Well, there's that, but Seph is very nearly as popular as Cloud, Kefka is WAY stronger than Terra, and CATS is likely far stronger than the Captain. It's a fact than Ganon is better than Link, in my opinion.

Direct contradiction.

Besides, Ganon blows. That's why I don't want him there.

I had a thought about Shadow if he was to face another Sonic character (besides Sonic himself): with him apparently serving as a proxy for Sonic against Mario, is it possible he could also serve as a Sonic-proxy against characters like Knuckles and Tails?
---
Serious Reminder: Nominate Jay Solano in 2k6.
Why? Sean Paul made a song about Jay, though nobody understands a damn word of it.
From: Slowflake | Posted: 12/2/2005 5:04:41 PM | Message Detail
Please, for the love of God, NO. The idea of Shadow kicking SFF ass and taking SFF names is too much for me to bear.

And, well, as far as Link/Ganon is concerned, it's not Ganon who gets all the cool gadgets and ass-kicking weapons, as well as a harem of chicks all ready to bed him in every game he's in. AND HE'S THE ONLY MALE IN HIS ****ING RACE, IT'S NOT LIKE IT SHOULD BE HARD.

Q: Why was Chris Benoit kicked out of the gas station?
A: Because he was carrying matches.
From: LeonhartForever | Posted: 12/2/2005 6:50:15 PM | Message Detail
I don't see Shadow serving the same role against his own series. He didn't do it against anybody but Mario. That was a special exception.

I think the idea is that people thought Shadow was Sonic. if a decent percentage of people thought it was Sonic vs. Knuckles, that could give Shadow the win in a head-to-head match.

I really don't think people thought it was Sonic. It's that people saw it as a pseudo-Mario/Sonic matchup. It didn't help him against Tidus, that's for sure.

yeah, good point. regardless, I'm pretty sure we'd all agree that Shadow is the most unpredictable returning character next year. the only other alternative that I can think of right now is Vincent.

Sora had that Snake match where we can't be completely sure what happened there, and then there's Kingdom Hearts II coming out. We might be looking at another Square revival. Who knows?

good call.. Shadow is more unpredictable in my opinion though because we didn't have him this year.

but then there's that Snake match..

Yeah, but we haven't had a good read on Alucard since 2003 (and even that's a little questionable), so we're not entirely sure where he stands.

I'll ask this again (something I asked about way back before the summer contest): Sora VS Tidus, who wins?

Last time, I remember it being practically unanimous for Tidus.....

Even if Sora is a bit stronger than Tidus, I think Tidus would rSFF him to pull off the victory, like Leonhart said. I can't see Aeris doubling Tidus. But, Sora has a great chance that he's weaker, anyway.

Just sent in my top 10 list, BTW. Hope it goes far.

Most people don't remember the NES since the average age of this site is so young.

I remember the NES... and I still own it, yet, I still believe the N64 is the greatest console ever made. That's only taking into consideration the games. By FAR the most fun I've ever had with a system in my entire life.

yeah, not to go all OMG KIDDIE here, but the bulk of the site is probably 14-17. I would actually expect the "kiddie vote" to favour the 64 even more.

as for sales:

I have no idea actually... and the latter is all speculation, but I'd say a decent amount. I won't give any exact number because I don't really know how much it sold in the first place.
