well, 3% is much less of a change when you're talking about a tenth of the votes. I think even the biggest x-stat supporter will say that you'll get different results on back-to-back days.

100% of the board took Magus over Knuckles, too, and we've seen them both a good bit.

I don't really feel like under-estimating Diablo, especially since the Villain Contest, but I've got the same issue you do; that's just such a high standard for a new-comer to hit and the game it's most comparable with has plenty of controversy of its own.

I didn't realize the front page actually updated. it looks like any mention of the contest is gone and we may never know the tiebreaker.. unless one of us finishes in the top 10, and that's bloody unlikely.

I think so; however, we have a bit of an advantage in normal contest settings - x-stats, previous results, discussion, etc. the exception is the game contest, and even for that we had character battles to let us know that stuff like CT was popular around here. with this, we had a much smaller turnout and a completely different population. I really don't think my 14 is good enough to make the top 10.

hmm.. thinking about it, FAQ hits are harder to nail than a top 10. all you get are the rankings, not the hits; for all we know, SC3 could be getting twice as many as RE4 right now. that's a much tougher contest, in my opinion.

If there was a Noble Niner to miss it, I would expect it to be Crono before Mega Man anyways. Not counting 2k2, Crono's continuously been seeded the lowest of the Noble Nine, and this past year didn't show a boost of any sort for Crono strength-wise like it had in other years.

Everyone knows my upset special, though the only character that really scares me is Crono thanks to the fact he's never had a one seed. Yeah, yeah, Mario v. Crono X 1000, but still. There wasn't one reason why Crono shouldn't have had a one seed this year. Does Ceej just not want to give it to him, or did Master Chief, Kirby, and Dante all really have more nominations than him? If the answer is the latter, then I'm really scared about putting him in a top ten character list.

I'd probably put him in, though, for the same reason I put LttP in my top ten games list. Crono should probably make enough lists overall, even if he doesn't nab a lot of top spots.

Well, unlike in LttP's case, people can nominate ten characters, which means that the results should be fairly close to the nominations for the character battles. Now, I don't think Ceej has ever released such information, but if Crono really doesn't get enough noms to get a 1-seed in a Clinkerothless bracket...

I like Kirby or Squall as the #10 character, with MC as a wildcard. I can't see people nominating Bowser or 'Dorf or Zero over the main characters in their series, though Zero could be an exception. I don't put too much into Crono's 2 seed.

I put MC as the wildcard since I don't know if people like him like they like his game. Kirby on the other hand seems to have a loyal fanbase, as does Squall. you don't see the words "Master Chief fanboy" thrown around that often.

Auron is also a nice choice.
